In episode 22 of Spy x Family, we saw Loid and Nightfall on their mission to win first place at the Campbellton tennis match. Loid and Nightfall cruised through the competition and beat other participants before they reached the final round, in which they went up against the Campbells. The Campbells had various tricks up their sleeves to sabotage the game and prevent Loid and Nightfall from winning the championship. Will Loid and Nightfall be able to win the match and bring home the painting, which is the key to their mission? Check out the recap of the episode in this article.

1. The Sabotage Continues

The Campbells continue with their tricks to get the upper hands over Loid and Nightfall on the court. And the tricks get dirtier. They keep moving the net up and down, yet Loid and Nightfall still manage to overcome it. Much to their frustration, the Campbells resort to other secret codes to signal their lackeys. One of the tricks involve a sniper and rubber bullets.

Now Loid and Nightfall have to play while avoiding the rubber bullets being shot at them. Since they are actually secret agents, Loid and Nightfall manage to dodge every incoming bullet, forcing the Campbells to use multiple tricks to subdue them. But of course Loid and Nightfall still manage to turn things around against the Campbells.

2. Unable to Take the Painting

After successfully defeating the Campbells and becoming the winners of the tennis match, it turns out that Mr. Campbell receives an order from State Security Service not to give the painting to anyone, so that Loid and Nightfall cannot exchange their winnings for the painting "Lady in the Sun". However, since they're a secret agent, they certainly already have a backup plan for the issue. When they are choosing the prize in Campbell's secret collection room, Nightfall outwits the officer on duty. Loid disguises himself as one of the officers there and secretly swaps the painting with a fake one.

3. Mission Completed

After swapping the original painting with a counterfeit, Loid and Nightfall return home. Loid comes home to meet Yor and Anya. Once again, Nightfall is amazed by Loid's ability, who's very good at carrying out his mission by disguising himself and swapping the painting very swiftly. Loid also compliments Nightfall's vigilance and for carrying a counterfeit of the painting in her bag that helped them complete the mission.

4. Nightfall Challenges Yor

Since Loid gets worried that many people would think that he is cheating on Yor if Fiona drives him to their doorstep, Fiona gets jealous as she really wants to be the perfect woman for Loid. As they arrive, Fiona sees Yor and Anya playing on the field. Fiona decides to greet Yor and Anya. Annoyed, and believing that she is good at playing tennis, Fiona challenges Yor for a tennis match, of course with the intention of getting rid of Yor from the Forgers.

Yor, who wants to prove her ability at playing tennis, accepts the challenge. This turns out to be an exciting spectacle for Anya. However, due to her sheer power, instead of bouncing the ball, the ball that Yor hits actually shatters, which astounds Fiona. But Yor refuses to give up, she tries to serve again with more control over her power and manages to deliver a powerful hit that overwhelms Fiona.

5. The Secret Code

A week later, Loid visits the Handler to find out about the secret code they retrieve from the painting. It turns out that the code leads him to a diary belonging to Colonel Erik Zacharis, which contains photographs of young artists that he hid from his wife. It turns out that, all this time, what he meant by "starting war" doesn't involve the East and West, but rather between Colonel Erik Zacharis and his wife. Loid can't accept the fact that he had worked really hard for this "secret" document.

However, on the bright side, with this document being found, at least they know that there is nothing that could trigger a war between the East and the West, which is certainly good news for WISE.
