Good news for anime fans! Kadokawa has just announced the artist behind the theme song for the anime series adaptation of Eko Mikawa's anticipated baseball manga Oblivion Battery (Bokyaku Battery).

In an announcement made on Sunday, March 3rd 2024, it was revealed that the famous rock band Mrs. Green Apple will perform the opening theme song entitled "Lilac," while another rock band, Macaroni Enpitsu, will perform the ending theme song entitled "Wasurena Uta."

This manga introduces the interesting story of Haruka, a talented pitcher who is often hailed as the best, and Kei, a skilled catcher known as "The General" but suffering from memory loss due to amnesia. These two baseball players became an insurmountable scourge at the high school level, destroying the dreams of the players they played against.

The story begins when the two enter the little-known Kotesashi Middle School in Tokyo, where they meet other baseball players who have given up after being defeated by Haruka and Kei.

In the anime version, these characters will be brought to life by a number of well-known voice actors, including:

• Toshiki Masuda as Haruka Kiyomine
• Mamoru Miyano as Kei Kaname
• Yohei Azakami as Aoi Todo
• Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shunpei Chihaya
• Yuki Kaji as Taro Yamada
• Yoshitaka Yamaya as Kazuki Tsuchiya
• Takeo Otsuka as Eiichiro Kokuto
• Mark Ishii as Hironobu Makita
• Kengo Kawanishi as Shuto Kirishima

This anime will be developed by a production team consisting of experienced professionals. Eijuu Takashima will be in charge of game production, while Makoto Nakazono will be the anime director at studio MAPPA.

The script will be handled by Michiko Yokote, while Takeshi Iida will accompany Nakazono as assistant director. Character design will be handled by Hitomi Hasegawa.

Other staff involved in the production include Action Scene Animation Directors Junpei Tatenaka and Masahiro Tokumaru, Art Director Yuki Funagakure, Color Key Artist Naomi Nakano, as well as a number of other professionals in the fields of animation and production.

This anime is planned to premiere on TV Tokyo and other channels this April, so fans don't have to wait too long to watch the exciting adventures of Oblivion Battery on their small screens.

Bokyaku Battery originally launched on the Shonen Jump+ website in April 2018 and has captivated fans ever since. Published by Shueisha, this manga reached its 17th volume on January 4th 2024.

This anime event adapted from the manga was previously created by MAPPA in October 2020 as part of the "Jump Special Anime Festa 2020." In this version, Mamoru Miyano has also played the character Kei brilliantly. Thus, high hopes accompany the release of this anime series adaptation which will be broadcast soon.
