Oda Says No One Can Play Luffy Apart from Inaki Godoy!
This is why Inaki Godoy can become Luffy in the upcoming One Piece Live Action!
Anime & Manga | 29 August
Netflix shared a video of the meeting between the two Monkey D. Luffy actors, Inaki Godoy and Mayumi Tanaka. Inaki Godoy, who recently visited Tokyo, took time to meet the legendary figure in the One Piece anime, Mayumi Tanaka, who has been the voice of Luffy since 1999.
After visiting Shueisha's office, Inaki also met the author of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda. Inaki couldn't believe he could meet Oda in person. As usual, Oda's face is not shown because he doesn't like his face being seen in the media.
While they were chatting, Oda explained his reasons for choosing Inaki Godoy as Luffy. When he saw Inaki's video for the first time, Oda laughed until he really liked him. That's why according to Oda only Inaki can play Luffy in One Piece Live Action.
Inaki himself certainly feels very happy and honored to be able to play Luffy. Plus, he can meet directly with the One Piece author who becomes his idol.
