A significant development has emerged from ONIC Esports, as the organization has officially parted ways with the promising young EXP Laner, Reza “Rezzz” Kurniawan. Rezz joined ONIC Esports during MPL ID S14, stepping in to fill the role previously occupied by Lutpi “Lutpii” Ardiyanto.
Rezzz, known for his adaptability as a young EXP Laner, faced the challenge of addressing the power vacuum left by the former captain, Satrya “Butss” Sanubari. Despite the influx of young talent, it appears that this has not been sufficient to bridge the gap.
Reflecting on their performance in MPL ID S14, ONIC has been keen to provide opportunities for emerging stars, hoping they can achieve breakthroughs without relying on seasoned players. However, rather than improving, ONIC's results have declined.
In MPL ID S15, the team has yet to secure a victory, suffering defeats in all three matches despite the presence of their four key players: Kairi, Kiboy, S A N Z, and CW. Coach Adi must now devise a strategy to navigate this challenging situation.
Recently, ONIC introduced Nowee "Ryota" Macassa, a young EXP Laner from the Philippines, who has more experience in MPL PH than both Lutpii and Rezzz. With ONIC's decision to part ways with Rezzz, a pressing question arises: is Ryota prepared to step up?
ONIC parts ways with Rezz, Ryota ready for action in Week 3 of MPL ID S15?
ONIC has officially released Rezz, leading to a significant question: who will fill the role of EXP Laner in week 3 of MPL ID S15, especially since Lutpii remains under a playing suspension until week 4?
Currently, ONIC's sole option is Ryota. Although his inclusion was announced some time ago, he did not have the opportunity to compete in week 2 of MPL ID S15, which contributed to ONIC's defeat in their only match that week.
For ONIC, improvement is essential, and the decision to part ways with Rezz was a necessary step. Coach Adi has assured that the team is poised to introduce a fresh approach.
This new direction is expected to be bolstered by Ryota's involvement. The synergy he develops with Kairi could become a significant asset for ONIC. As they approach week 3, they are set to face DEWA United and Bigetron.
If Ryota can instill optimism within ONIC, the resurgence of the Yellow Landak squad may occur before the midseason, making the pursuit of reclaiming the MPL championship trophy a realistic goal.
Thus, ONIC's decision to part with Rezz may indeed set the stage for Ryota's debut in week 3 of MPL ID S15. We will have to wait and see how this unfolds.
