GTA Online: Los Santos Tuners & Auto Shop Business Complete Guide
Car culture is back in GTA Online! Complete with a super fun new business!
Tips & Trick | 26 July
Rockstar has just released a new DLC for GTA Online that brings back the car culture, titled Los Santos Tuners. The DLC is certainly good news for most players as it brings more cars and a wide array of modifications.
Rockstar introduces several new features in this DLC. One of which is an underground car meet location in the Cypress Flats area. This place is a perfect spot for a car meet given that there’s no griefer nor police trying to stop you.
Aside from the car meet location, Rockstar also added a new property called Auto Shop that allows players to run a legal car shop business. On top of that, there are two illegal activities players can do by owning an Auto Shop: Contract missions and Exotic Exports.
Los Santos Car Meet
As I’ve mentioned above, Los Santos Car Meet (LSCM) is a new underground car meet. This spot introduces several new things that previously can’t be found in GTA Online.
To start the LSCM activities, you need to meet Mimi and apply for a membership for $50,000. After registering, you’ll unlock numerous features such as a Merch store that sells clothing and tattoos, a car-tuning place with many special options, and an option that allows you to test drive a car before deciding to buy it.
There’s also the Prize Ride Challenges that reward you with a car if you manage to complete the challenges. The Prize Ride Challenges will reset every week, similar to the Diamond Casino’s car prize.
Reputation Points
In LSCM, you’ll find a large test track where you can test drive cars. There are various activities that you can do such as Time Trial, Head To Head, and Scramble. All of the activities you do, be it in LSCM or the test track, will increase your Reputation Points, which can be used for various things. Even being AFK in LSCM can increase your Reputation Points.
The higher your Reputation Points level, the more exclusive items -- such as clothing, tattoos, and car liveries -- you’ll unlock. After reaching Reputation Points Level 20, you can speak to Mimi to takeover the LSCM into a private car meet that only allows you and your friends. The Takeover is temporary, and you’ll have to spend $50,000 to do so.
Aside from doing activities in LSCM, you can also participate in the three new race modes to increase your Reputation Points. The first race, Sprint, and is available if there are 1-3 players who accepted the invites.
The second mode, Street Race, is a normal street race without any obstacles. As for Pursuit, you’ll be dealing with police chasing you and a difficulty level that you can set before the race starts.
A New Property: Auto Shop
Aside from the LSCM and Reputation Points, Rockstar also added a new property, Auto Shop. By having this property, you can run a legal business where you repair and modify the customers’ cars. However, you need to pay for the upgrades first.
But no worries, because the cost will be reimbursed by the customers once they receive the cars. The customers will also pay for a delivery cost between $20,000 - $30,000, which is also going to be your net profit.
There are several upgrades/customization that you can get for your Auto Shop. The two most important ones are additional Staff and the Car Lift. Your Staff will help you carry out deliveries after the cars have been upgraded. But bear in mind that not all deliveries carried out by your staff will run smoothly. In fact, most of the time, they’d drive recklessly, and reduce your profits.
Whereas the Car Lift will allow you to upgrade two cars at once so that you’ll be more efficient with your time. The reason being, after you deliver a car back to the customer, there’s a 10-minute cooldown before you can get another customer. So, by having an additional Car Lift, you can increase the profit of your Auto Shop. But keep in mind that when you buy an Auto Shop, you’ll receive a Car Lift. So, the Car Lift listed on the Maze Bank Foreclosure site will serve as your second Car Lift.
Robbery Contracts & Exotic Exports
Although the Auto Shop allows you to run a legitimate business, aside from that, the business also gives you access to run two illegal businesses. On the second floor, you’ll find a whiteboard that lists available jobs. In total, you’ll see six contracts, each with two setup missions and one finale. The payout you get from these contract missions ranges between $160,000 to $185,000.
In addition to that, in the same room, you’ll see a blackboard with a list of exotic cars that you can export. These cars reset daily, and you can steal these cars from NPCs, or from the map (marked with a blue dot icon). After finding and stealing the car, you can deliver it to the port for a $20,000 reward.
So, those were the details about the latest features that you can find in the Los Santos Tuners DLC and the Auto Shop business in GTA Online. Be sure to check out the following Dunia Games’ video, hosted by Dimedigger, about this DLC.
