Friendship Returns! Mortal Kombat 11 Characters Turn From Deadly to Cute and Cuddly
Let’s forget about broken bones, chopped limbs, and bloodsheds for a while.

One of the selling factors of Mortal Kombat 11 (or the series in general) is the high level of violence and bloody finishers called Fatality. But on Monday (18/5), NetherRealm Studios introduced a new twist by reintroducing a Finisher called Friendship in Mortal Kombat 11.
As you can see on the trailer, Friendships are indeed far from “gory”. Instead of showing broken bones and bloodsheds that have been the series’ staple, you will see Scorpion who’s pulling a giant Teddy bear, Sub-Zero riding an ice cream cart, and Jax playing saxophone. The core is, Friendship is far from killing your opponent.
As we mentioned before, the Friendships were not making a first appearance in the series. Back in 1993 when the first game was released, the game received heavy criticisms from parents who told the game as a “violence promotor”. Instead of toning it down in the sequel, Mortal Kombat 2 released a new style of finisher called Friendships, and nobody would think that this feature could reappear after 27 years.
Friendships will arrive on the free update for Mortal Kombat 11 owners on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, Stadia, and PC. In this update, players will also get two popular stages that once gone: Klassic Dead Pool and Soul Chamber.
Aside from those free updates, you can also get a new DLC called Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath that sold separately from the main game. In this DLC, you will get a story expansion that occurs after the main game ends, new characters, and one of them is RoboCop!
