As a dark horse team, Rebellion’s journey through the Regular Season has not always been smooth every season. However, they have previously managed to reach the playoffs, although their run didn’t last long. The question remains whether RBL can make it to the MPL ID S14 playoffs this time. The first thing that could help Rebellion qualify is relying on other match results. Yes, Alter Ego and DEWA United would need to lose in their remaining matches.

“If we look at the results of Alter Ego’s matches, for example, if they lose 2-1 and DEWA also loses 2-1 in their remaining matches, we could see the possibility of Rebellion making the playoffs. This would be the first time a team with a 6-10 record could advance to the playoffs because the teams below them only have 5 and 2 wins,” explained KB.

“The key point here is that Alter Ego and DEWA must not win any of their remaining matches,” he added.

In addition to relying on Alter Ego and DEWA’s results, Rebellion can also watch for the outcomes of matches involving top-tier teams in the MPL ID S14 standings.

“Rebellion has a chance to collect 6 points because Alter Ego and DEWA will be facing tough opponents,” said KB.

“Alter Ego will go up against RRQ and Team Liquid, while DEWA must face Rebellion and RRQ. Alter Ego will also meet ONIC and Bigetron. If the results remain unchanged, their situation will only get tougher,” he elaborated.

Therefore, RBL’s path to the MPL ID S14 playoffs heavily depends on the performances of top teams like RRQ Hoshi, Bigetron Alpha, Fnatic, ONIC, and Team Liquid.

Winning Their Remaining Matches

According to KB and Razeboy, the main condition for Rebellion to secure a spot in the MPL ID S14 playoffs is that they must win all their remaining matches.

“For Rebellion, the only way to make it to the playoffs is by winning every match, whether with a 2-0 or 2-1 scoreline. If Rebellion manages to win all their matches, especially against DEWA, that could be the deciding factor,” explained KB.
