As a prominent esports team from Indonesia, Rex Regum Qeon, commonly known as RRQ, stands out as one of the most accomplished teams, particularly in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) competitive arena. With numerous accolades, a vast fanbase, and various partnerships, RRQ's fame is certainly well-established.
Beyond Indonesia, RRQ has also made its mark in several other countries. Notably, in the MLBB competitive scene, the team once ventured into the Latin American (LATAM) region, specifically in Brazil, with RRQ Akira. Currently, outside of Indonesia, RRQ operates in the Philippines with RRQ Kaito.
Is RRQ considering expanding its operations to other regions beyond Indonesia? It's a possibility. However, there is currently no confirmation regarding any new expansions, particularly in the MLBB competitive landscape.
Recently, there have been talks about RRQ potentially joining MPL MY or MPL Malaysia. This topic was addressed by RRQ's CEO, Andrian Pauline, also known as Pak AP, during a live stream on his YouTube channel. He even shared insights on RRQ's prospects of entering MPL MY.
Of course, certain criteria must be fulfilled for RRQ's participation in MPL MY to become a reality. What did Pak AP say about this? What specific conditions need to be met for RRQ to expand into the Malaysian MLBB scene?
RRQ Joins MPL MY Will Happen With One Condition From Pak AP
Recently, MPL Malaysia announced plans to develop a franchise system similar to that of Indonesia. This information was shared by Fikri Rizal Mahruddin, the Esports Lead at MOONTON Games Malaysia, prior to the launch of MPL MY S15.
The idea of transitioning MPL Malaysia to a franchise model has been discussed for some time, but it has yet to be implemented, even as we approach the 15th season in 2025. However, Fikri mentioned that he is currently working on a strategy for introducing the franchise system in the next season of MPL Malaysia.
This news caught the attention of RRQ's CEO, Andrian "AP" Pauline, also known as Pak AP, who acknowledged that he had heard about the potential shift to a franchise system for MPL Malaysia.
"Yes, I've heard that MPL MY might adopt a franchise model next season, but I've been hearing about this for quite a while," Pak AP responded to inquiries from fans.
He further stated that if MPL MY does move forward with the franchise system and the entry fee aligns with RRQ's expectations, there is a strong possibility that RRQ will participate in MPL Malaysia.
"If MPL MY does implement a franchise and the costs are reasonable, RRQ would seriously consider joining MPL Malaysia. I'm not joking, guys," Pak AP emphasized.
Mr. AP highlighted that the team is already aware of the cost involved in joining the franchise league, which confirms that RRQ has a significant opportunity to participate in MPL MY.
"The cost is fair because we have all the calculations in place. There’s no room for deception," he stated.
It's intriguing to consider Mr. AP's comments about RRQ's potential entry into MPL MY next season with the implementation of the franchise system. Who do you think will bolster RRQ if the King of Kings makes his way to the neighboring country? Let's stay tuned and find out!
