Back in 1998, Tenchu: Stealth Assassin, was released on PS1. The game serves as the first installment of the Tenchu series, a stealth game that brought gamers unique challenges. The latest installment, Tenchu: Shadow Assassin, became the last Tenchu game to be released in 2008 on Wii and PSP. The creator, Takuma Endo, stated that Tenchu still has the potential to crawl onto the next-gen consoles.

Reporting from Gamerant, in an interview with Weekly Famitsu, the man behind the success of the franchise, said that he wanted to be involved in the next Tenchu game if greenlighted. In other words, he’s very interested in developing a new Tenchu game for PS5 if possible.

Even so, Endo stated that it's difficult to make a new Tenchu game. In the end, Endo decided that Acquire probably will shift it into a new, ninja-stealth game to be developed. This is because he wants to prolong the ‘Stealth Assassin’ trademark that already expired. We’ll see what the future has in store for us to Endo and Tenchu games. Hopefully, this series can spawn a new one!
