Alice In Borderland returned with its second season on Netflix, and of course it has been well-received by fans who have been waiting for the continuation. After being delayed for two years, many fans had been understandably enthusiastic to see the end of the series of deadly games.

The first season ends with Arisu, Usagi, Chishiya, Kuina, and the other characters making it through all the number cards, meaning that they must proceed to a game of face cards. In this journey, Arisu and co are once again faced with a deadly game and a mystery that they have to solve. What do you think the ending of this series means? Will they finally be able to return to the real world? Here's an explanation of Alice In Borderland Season 2 ending. Without further ado, let's get into it.

1. The King of Spades' Real Identity

The game against the King of Spades actually began early in the first episode. But since the game was too hard to beat and he just killed the players mercilessly, the remaining players decided to split up and take on other face cards. In episode 7, the King of Spade returns, and the remaining six players devise a plan, which involves bombs.

They eventually manage to carry out Arisu's bomb plan, and as the King of Spades -- whose real name is Isao Shirabi -- takes his last breath, we can see a flashback. According to the description from the manga, the King of Spades was a trained soldier, and possibly a mercenary, before he was brought to the Borderland. The image of a person shown at the end of his life is himself having to shoot his own friend on a mission when he was still a soldier.

2. The Final Game Against the Queen of Hearts

Arisu and Usagi make it through to the final round after defeating the King of Spades. They have to go up against the Queen of Hearts in the final game. This character actually appeared at the final episode of the first season, but unlike the previous games, this time Arisu has to win a cricket match against the Queen of Hearts.

Mira Kano possesses the ability to create illusions to deceive her opponents, she even manages to cause Usagi to draw a lot of blood to awaken Arisu from the illusions she creates. However, they ultimately manage to finish playing all the cards, and learn that Mira Kano is not the game master, as she also gets killed by a laser for losing the game.

3. Refusing to Stay in the Borderland

After successfully defeating Mira Kano, the Queen of Hearts, Arisu and those who manage to survive are given two choices: to remain citizens in Borderland or return to the real world. Arisu, Usagi, Chishiya, Aguni, Niragi, Kuina, and Heiya refuse to live in Borderland and opt to return to real life.

4. Explanation on the Fireworks at the Beginning of Season 1

Those who were in Shibuya saw fireworks on display. It had previously been mentioned by one of the players who claimed that they clearly remember about the fireworks before the mysterious incident began. But the person who said that was shot by the King of Spades. At the end of episode 8, it turns out that the fireworks was actually a meteor that fell and destroyed Shibuya.

All those who were present in Shibuya at that time ended up getting hospitalized, and some were in a coma. This may hint at their lives in Borderland, as it's possible that all of them are in a coma. It's possible that the life they live in the deadly Borderland was just an illusion, whereas in the real world, they're actually in a coma.

5. Mysteries of the Joker

Even though the second season has ended, and the mystery of what happened in Shibuya has been answered, at the end of episode 8, we're faced with another mystery. A Joker card is seen on the hospital table where Arisu and Usagi are being treated. This card is yet another new question mark for the audience, and one that makes many fans wondering about the third season. But it could be that this Joker card indicates something, namely that all this time, the audience has been lied to as the game Arisu has been playing is just a dream of a comatose patient. However, in the original story of the manga, Alice In Borderland ends with the Joker card.

I guess there's some misunderstanding in your article. Arisu don't need to win the Queen of Heart's game, he just simply to finish 3 croquet game neither win or lose. Also, I believe that Mira Kano doesn't posses any ability to create illusion. She just using drugs which she put in the tea that Arisu drank. Since the Queen of Heart's game allowing the players to use weapon (poison is some kind of weapon too, I guess).
