What is the latest Valorant penalty system for AFK players that will be implemented in the upcoming update? Here's the explanation!
Explanation of the Valorant Penalty System
As we reported from the X account @ValorIntel on September 2, 2025, Riot will increase penalties for players who continuously dodge and AFK.
“Queue-skipping violation warning: We understand that sometimes you need to skip the queue. However, skipping the queue too frequently can disrupt other players. If you continue to skip the queue, you will be subject to a longer waiting period before you can rejoin the queue.” The warning states.
This update means that players who dodge will be subject to a waiting period before they can start the game again.
What Does AFK Mean?
For your information, according to Riot Games, AFK stands for Away From Keyboard, which means that the player is not in front of their computer or is behaving as if they are not there by not moving their Agent or communicating.
Simply put, a player is considered AFK if they are on the battlefield but not participating in the match, thereby putting their team at a disadvantage. Leaving matchmaking is an action where a player exits the Agent selection screen by disconnecting from the server, resulting in their team losing one member when the match begins.
