The Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) 2025 tier 2 championship series is getting closer to VCT Ascension 2025. Following that, Riot Games announced how the slots for the teams that will participate in the championship will be divided.

The VCT Ascension Pacific will take place October 13-26, 2025. The best teams from Challengers and Ascended teams will fight for their spot in the International League for 2026. 

VCT Ascension 2025 Slot Explanation

VCT Ascension Pacific 2025, which will take place from October 13 to 26 in Bangkok, Thailand. The tournament retains the 10-team format, with most regions receiving one slot each. 

The SEA region is confirmed to receive four slots, with the possibility of adding up to six slots through the flex slot qualification process. These two flex slots depend on the results of last year's two Ascension teams, Nongshim RedForce and Boom Esports at VCT Pacific Stage 2.

If Nongshim and Boom fail to qualify for Champions or don't meet the criteria to maintain their position in VCT Pacific, then both will have to be relegated to VCT Ascension Pacific.

Here is the scenario for the VCT Ascension slots:

• Ascended Teams Extend Their Stay in IL
  • If they qualify for the Champions (only one team can extend their stay)
• Ascended Teams Retain Their Slot in Ascension
  • If they qualify for the Stage 2 playoffs but fail to qualify for the Champions
  • If they are in the top 8 in Champions Points but fail to qualify for the Champions
  • If they are the lowest performing of the two Ascension Teams who qualify for Champions
  • If they tie for the top 8 in Champions Points
• Ascended Team Drops Directly to Challengers
  • If they do not meet any of the criteria listed above
• Away Team Renews Their Contract in the International League
  • If they qualify for Champions (only one team can renew)
• Away Team Retains Their Slot in Ascension
  • If they qualify for the Stage 2 playoffs, but fail to qualify for the Champions
  • If they make the top 8 in Championship Points, but fail to qualify for the Champions
  • If their performance is lower than other Ascension teams who also qualify for the Champions
  • If they make the top 8 in Championship Points, but are in a tie position
• Away Team Directly Relegated to Challengers
  • If they do not meet any of the above criteria
