Long before the Pirate Era began, exactly 38 years ago from the present time, Sengoku explained about a major incident in the past that took place in God Valley. The incident had made major changes to the seas in One Piece. Here, there was a battle between the Roger Pirates who were allied with Garp against the Rocks Pirates.

About God Valley

The God Valley incident was first explained at the end of the second part of the Wano plot. It was then that Sengoku explained one of the greatest histories in the One Piece world, the God Valley incident. To be precise, it is explained in chapter 957. Only a few details of this incident were told by Sengoku.

Usually, Tenryuubito settled in Mariejois or sometimes they came to Shabaody to buy slaves traded at the auction house. But they didn't just go to those places.

Based on Sengoku's explanation, Tenryuubito was also in God Valley at that time. They also seemed to have a lot of slaves for no apparent reason. Their presence was one of the biggest reasons the God Valley war happened. 

The God Valley incident was initiated by Rocks D. Xebec who started the war. Based on Sengoku lore, Rocks wanted to become the King of the World for no apparent reason. Thus, he targeted Tenryuubito and his slaves in God Valley.

The Rocks Pirates were known to be the strongest group at the time. The Rocks themselves were thought to be stronger than Gol D. Roger. Even so, their opponent was Garp who was allied with Gol. D Roger. The two people with the name D are very strong figures in their respective groups.

The God Valley incident did not only involve Rocks, Garp, and Roger. Many legendary pirates were also involved in this war. Some of them have become Yonkou in the present day such as Kaido, Big Mom, and Shirohige. Not only that, famous pirates like Wang Zhi, Captain John, and Golden Lion Shiki were also present on the island.

At the end of the war, the Rocks were defeated by Garp and Roger's alliance. Although there were many big names on the Rocks' side, most of them failed to fulfill their respective duties. This was thanks to the combined power of Garp and Roger. Unfortunately, this battle was not shown at all.During Rocks' time, there were no Yonkou in the world of One Piece. According to Sengoku's explanation, the ocean was ruled by Rocks alone. But after his crew split up, things changed. Although the Rocks Pirates were made up of big names, none of them were in their prime at the time.

Shirohige, Shiki, Kaido, and Big Mom could still grow much stronger. As time went on, they became much stronger and began to lead the seas. That was when Yonkou was born. Meanwhile, Shiki, who heard the news that Roger was executed, was desperate to fight the Navy. He was defeated by Sengoku and Garp and then thrown into Impel Down.

After the victory against the Rocks in God Valley, Garp earned the nickname "Navy Hero". According to the Navy's public explanation, Garp faced the Rocks alone and eliminated them all.

But that doesn't mean Garp didn't do anything during the battle. He had an important role with Roger who defeated the captain, Rocks. Even so, Garp was not happy if others thought he was the one who defeated Rocks alone. He wanted Roger's services to be known to people as well.

After the God Valley incident, somehow the entire island vanished without a trace. Even people like Sengoku do not know where the island disappeared to. It is possible that it was the work of the World Government.

Many believe the World Government erased the island's existence along with its traces using certain means. There are also those who say that God Valley is the Onigashima that Kaido brought with him.

Why the God Valley War Could Happen Again

In the present day, a war like God Valley could happen again between two pirates who have become Yonkou, Luffy and Teach. The first reason is that Teach caused Ace's death, which left Luffy deeply hurt.

In Hachinosu, Garp was also defeated by Aokiji who was part of the Kurohige Pirates.Here, Garp is most likely dead. If Garp finds out that his grandfather died because of Teach, he will be furious and will probably declare war on the Kurohige Pirates.

Then who is the pirate he will make an alliance with? Most likely he is Coby. Sooner or later, Coby will become an Admiral because of his growing contribution to the Navy. In the end, they will face Teach just like when Roger and Garp allied to face Rocks.
