The fifth episode of WandaVision surprised the fans at the end of the episode by bringing out one of the characters from the X-Men (FOX) universe, Quicksilver. Interestingly, the FOX Quicksilver has similarities to MCU Quicksilver. Their real name is Pietro Maximoff and Wanda’s twin brother. Their alias and power are the same too.
Pietro in the series is not portrayed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson like in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Here, Pietro is played by the man cast by Fox for the X-Men series, Evan Peters. The appearance of Evan as Pietro in WandaVision and MCU surprises many fans.
Bringing out Evan as Pietro in MCU is actually not that big of a surprise. Previously, there are rumors that Evan will appear in MCU as an unnamed character. Until WandaVision episode 5 was released and confirmed that Evan will portray Pietro or Quicksilver.
But you might wonder, what is the difference between Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s QUicksilver and Evan Peters’ Quicksilver. Find out the article below to find out.
1. Connection to Wanda
In Avengers: Age of Ultron, fans found out that Wanda and Pietro Maximoff were born in Sokovia. They became the lab rat of Hydra. But freed by Avengers after becoming the slave of Ultron. Pietro, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson has a dark past. The Maximoff twins were born in 1989 and they are orphans. Their country was in civil war for decades.
It’s not the same with Evan Peters’ Quicksilver. In some of the X-Men films, Evan Peters’ Quicksilver is not connected to Wanda Maximoff. The FOX’s version often engaged in solo action unlike MCU’s Quicksilver.
2. Origin
MCU’s Quicksilver was born in a country named Sokovia where there were decades of civil war. He was raised alongside his twin sister, Wanda. MCU’s Quicksilver background is adapted from the comic book, so there’s not much difference between the two versions. Since he was raised in Sokovia he speaks in a thick eastern European accent.
While FOX’s Quicksilver was born in America and is a mutant. He was born in 1956 and lives with his birth mother. It was revealed that his mother dated a man that can manipulate metal. From there it was implied that the father of this Quicksilver is Magneto. If this is true, then Pietro is of Polish descent from his father’s side. Looking at his birth year, FOX’s Quicksilver is 67 years old.

3. Personality
Both Quicksilver played by Evan Peters and Aaron Taylor-Johnson have an impatient nature. The. This may be the result of their super speed, so they feel the need of getting something done quickly.
But their personality is different. The Pietro portrayed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson is more mature. While he holds anger and frustration, he tries to hide it and stay strong.
The Pietro portrayed by Evan Peters is the opposite. He has a quirky personality. He is a bit kleptomaniac. When Wolverine, Beast, and Professor X visited his home, you can see the stuff he had stolen using his power.
4. Costume
Another striking difference between MCU and FOX Quicksilver is their costume. The costume of MCU’s Quicksilver is inspired by the comic book costume. The costume is really tight so it shows the athletic body of Pietro. While FOX’s Quicksilver stood out in the crowd because of its silver costume with a “Pink Floyd” shirt and a goggle.
5. Power
Although both are super fast, Evan Peters’ Quicksilver has the upper hand. In X-Men: Days of Future, fans witnessed the amazing speed of Quicksilver. He moved so fast that it looked like he was slowing the time down and everything around him moved slowly.
In X-Men: Apocalypse, Evan Peters’ Quicksilver almost saved every mutant at Xavier School. While Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Quicksilver saves everyone in the path of a derailed train. But the scene is not shown in slow motion.
The MCU’s Quicksilver looked worn out after that action. While FOX’s Quicksilver doesn’t seem to be bothered after all of his action/
Basically, both Quicksilvers have the same power, but their level of awesomeness is different.
