JAKARTA, November 2, 2022 – The 2022 Esports President Cup Tournament is an effort by the Government of Indonesia and all relevant stakeholders to maximize the potential of the country's video game and esports industry.

Ahead of the tournament's main event, the 2022 Esports President Cup held a visit to the PB Esports Indonesia (PBESI) office on Wednesday (2/11). This visit aimed to see PBESI's preparations ahead of the 2022 IESF World Championship tournament which will take place at the end of this year. Winners of several game branches in the 2022 Esports President Cup will have the opportunity to represent Indonesia in a global-scale tournament.

“PBESI participated in helping to spread information about the 2022 Esports President Cup event. We are also currently preparing for a follow-up event, namely the 2022 IESF World Championship. Overall, this is an example of an esports ecosystem that we are trying to develop,” said Yohannes Siagian as Deputy Chair of Athletes and Achievements of PBESI.

The 2022 Esports President Cup has completed the qualifying round. All teams that passed through various qualifying rounds, ranging from the east qualifier, west qualifier, a closed qualifier, to an open qualifier would compete in the main event round that took place offline from November 11 to 13, 2022, at Istora Senayan, Jakarta.

This year, there were three local games that were contested; Battle of Guardians, Battle of Satria Dewa, and Lokapala.
