Pokemon Friends officially launched today and is now available on Nintendo Switch, including Nintendo Switch 2, as well as on iOS and Android devices. This latest puzzle game from The Pokémon Company offers brainteasing challenges inspired by the Pokémon universe, with gameplay suitable for all ages.

Developed in collaboration with Wonderfy Inc., Pokemon Friends invites players to solve puzzles to collect yarn, which can then be used to create plush Pokémon in the game.

Features and Gameplay of Pokemon Friends

In Pokemon Friends, players will solve a variety of brainteasers to earn yarn. This yarn is used in the Plush-O-Matic feature to craft plush Pokémon, which can then be delivered to residents of Think Town through friend quests. Additionally, these plushies can be used to decorate a personal plush room, complete with customizable furniture and wallpaper.

The game features over 1,200 unique puzzles designed to enhance logic and creativity. Players can also track their daily progress using an in-game calendar stamp system and collect up to 150 different plush Pokémon. With up to five separate save slots, the game supports shared fun for the entire family on a single device.

Compatibility and Price

Pokemon Friends is available for $9.99 on Nintendo Switch, while the mobile version is free to download with optional in-app purchases. Some additional features are only accessible through paid DLC. While there’s no special edition for Nintendo Switch 2, the game is fully compatible with that console, as well as with the Nintendo Switch OLED and Nintendo Switch Lite models.

Pokemon Friends launched alongside other major announcements from Pokémon Presents, including new details about Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Pokemon Champions, and the reveal of a new stop-motion series, Pokemon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu, a collaboration with Aardman Studios.
