Wild Rift is to have the arrival of the four newest Champions, and some of them have unusual mechanics, like Irelia and Senna. However, according to the official leaks from Riot Games, Irelia is the only one included in the sneak peek. While three other Champions, Senna, Lucian, and Riven are still mere rumors from the Chinese alpha test.
Although these three Champions are still just rumors, they still have great chances of getting released in the game. So, before their eventual releases, let’s find out more about their strengths and weaknesses first. Without further ado, let’s get into it!
1. Irelia
Starting at number one, we have Irelia, a Champion that has been confirmed for a release in Wild Rift patch 2.3. She’s a fighter who relies on her high mobility to finish off opponents. Irelia has always had gracefulness in her every move since her childhood when she learned the traditional dances of her province, Ionia. Her love for the dances was real. Trying to master the art, she eventually left home to study with some of Ionia’s most respected dancers at the Placidium of Navori.
Irelia’s primary strengths are her lifesteal and her control of the minion wave. She’s exceptionally elusive, especially against poking skills like Ezreal's Mystic Shot. Irelia’s agility can also be her main weapon to jump into fights.
When it comes to her weaknesses, Irelia is hard to grasp for beginners. She also doesn’t have a reliable escape tool, especially when there’s no enemy minion for her to dash to. The only way for Irelia to survive is by relying on the stun from her Flawless Duet or by going toe-to-toe with the opponent.
2. Senna
Next up, we have Senna, she’s a Marksman who can also play as a Support. Fans of League PC are quite ecstatic to hear about the release of Senna as she’s an important figure for Lucian, her husband. Senna has been missing since Thresh took her soul, confining her in his lantern. Ever since then, Lucian has been trying on saving her.
During her time inside Thresh’s lantern, Senna learned about her childhood’s terror, the Black Mist, which had been haunting her with its curse. She ultimately managed to learn the Black Mist and use it to free the other lost souls in Thresh’s lantern -- but not for herself. With the help from Lucian, Senna managed to return to the real world -- not as a human, but as a half-spirit.
When it comes to Senna’s strengths, she has a skill that she can use to do damage as well as heal her allies. She also has a long attack range, perfect for harassing opponents in the Duo Lane. Although she’s mainly a Support, Senna can also play as an ADC! She has annoying stuns, great for initiating team fights.
As for her weaknesses, Senna has no dash to help her escape, except for her Curse of the Black Mist, which allows her to blend in with the mist and cannot be targeted by basic attacks or skills from outside of the mist.

3. Riven
Another Champion that’s rumored to be released in Wild Rift is Riven. Riven was once a Noxian swordmaster rewarded with the legendary Runic Blade and a Warband of her own. She was raised on a farm run by the empire on the rocky hillsides of Trevale without a father nor a mother. Physical strength and ferocious will kept the children alive and working on the hard scrap of land, but Riven hungered for more than simply bread on the table.
However, on the Ionian front, Riven’s faith in her nation was tested and ultimately broken. She severed all ties to the empire, seeking to find her place in a shattered world, even as rumors abounded that Noxus had been reforged.
Riven’s main strengths are her brief skill cooldowns, stun, and shield. It’s easy for her to jump in and out of team fights. She’s the type of Champions who rely on skill combos and basic attacks. So, it’s not easy to master her.
As for the drawbacks, Riven can be a challenge to play, especially for beginners. You need lots of practice before using her in Ranked.
4. Lucian
Lucian is finally coming to Wild Rift. This Champion is one of the fan-favorites. Lucian wields twin relic weapons to fight the undead. As mentioned before, Lucian fought hard in his biggest mission: saving the lost souls and her wife from Thresh’s lantern.
Similar to Riven, Lucian relies heavily on his skill-basic attack combos. Every time he casts a skill, Lucian shoots twice, inflicting a significant amount of damage. Unlike any Marksman in general, Lucian doesn’t rely on Attack Speed, but Burst Damage.
As for his weakness, Lucian tends to use lots of Mana early in the game. You need to be smart in managing his Mana, especially during the laning phase.
