This game, which fans have been waiting for to start adventuring in its vast open world, also promises fantastic graphics with a very wide open world with a rich and interesting narrative. As a gacha game, Wuthering Waves also provides a variety of unique and interesting characters which are usually referred to as resonators, where the characters are available in four and five-star rarities. There are many roles, weapons, and elements to choose from, and each character has an intricate design and distinct personality. For those of you who still don't know whether you want to play the game, here are several reasons why you must try playing Wuthering Waves.
Reasons Why You Must Play Wuthering Waves
1. An Interesting Co-op Mechanic
As a game that comes with an open-world system, surely Wuthering Waves offers a co-op mode or multiplayer mode. This mechanism allows you to cooperate with friends on the same team to explore its open world. You can face lesser enemies and bosses together, collect the materials needed to form your character and go on adventures in a group which is certainly fun. In Wuthering Waves, you can form a party of up to three players, with each player controlling your character. If you play together, it means you will control two characters, but if there are three in one team then you only control one character.
One of the interesting co-op systems of Wuthering Waves is that the monsters you already need in your 'world' will not respawn until the daily reset, so you can co-op with other players in their world to form a team and farm together. This allows you to do unlimited farming as long as you form a party and visit the world of the friends you make teammates with.
2. Intro & Outro System
In the Wuthering Waves CBT2 version, a new system for skills is presented called Intro & Outro Skills which will focus on increasing fighting experience and smooth character exchange. The skill outro is a remake of the previous Concerto Effects system in CBT1. They work in the same way and have similar properties. By attacking enemies, you will generate Concerto Energy, and different attacks will generate different amounts, when your Concerto Bar is full, the next exchange will trigger Intro and Outro.
Outro skills are performed by the character you exchange and will usually provide a buff or deal direct damage to the enemy. Buffs can vary between elemental damage buffs, attack-type buffs, and healing. Intro skills have been in the game for a long time. It is a unique attack that your character will perform when entering the field and provides a bonus afterward.
Usually, this bonus is related to their Forte. For example, Sanhua will enter the field and deal damage to Glacio, also creating one of her Ice Prisms that can be detonated with her Forte. The intro skill also deals a certain amount of damage to the enemy's stagger bar. This is very useful for taking down bosses so you can freely dish out damage without having to worry about getting hit.
3. A Promising Gacha System
Wuthering Waves uses a gacha system as the main way players can get new Resonators and Weapons, where this is the only way to get Resonators and Weapons with the highest rarity. The gacha banner in this game is called Convene, with the currency used being Astrites or Tides which are gacha tickets.
Each gacha has its starting banner, in Wuthering Waves, this banner displays 5 "Standard" characters, which guarantees you at least one 5 Star standard character (guaranteed at 50 pity) and comes with a discount when using pulls on it (8 instead of 10, per 10 pulls). The gacha rules that apply here are the possibility of getting 4 stars per 10 pulls, the possibility of getting five stars per 80 pulls, and the soft pity applies from 60-70 pulls.
If you gacha on the Character Limited Banner, it will display a rate increase with a 50% chance of decreasing the rate for that character. After getting a 5 Star that is not a character that is given a rate-up, the next 5 Star will have a 100% drop chance of becoming a character that is given a limited rate-up. And if 5 Star is not a rate-up character, you will get one of the standard characters. With the same gacha rules, namely 4 stars per 10 pulls, the possibility of getting five stars per 80 pulls, 50:50 with a guarantee after losing pity and soft pity starting at 60-70 pulls.
4. There is Echo that is Similar to Pokemon
Echo is equipment that you can install or use on the character you own. Using the Echo will increase your character's stats. Each Echo also has abilities associated with it, from dealing damage to providing buffs to the team. The way to get Echo is similar to Pokemon, where you go out into the world, kill monsters and bosses, and you get the opportunity to get Essence from the monsters you fight. Each Echo has a rarity that depends on the rarity of the monster and how many monsters you have caught previously. There are many interesting and unique monsters with various set bonuses that you can use in this Echo, this system is similar to Artifact and Relic from similar games.
5. Bosses Become a Challenging Adversary
Wuthering Waves has multiple bosses that all have different rewards and prizes. You can fight world bosses to farm Overlord Class Echoes or upgrade materials for your Resonator. You can also fight these bosses as many times as you want, but the prizes can only be claimed if you have the waveplate. Meanwhile, for Weekly Boss, you can only claim the prize once a week. However, these bosses provide drops with rare rewards such as Calamity Class Echoes, Weapon Molds, and Forte upgrade materials to compensate for the difficulty of obtaining them.
Unlike other gacha games where boss fights are usually boring and limited to end-game activities, Wuthering Waves has a Hologram Boss system where what you will face is a boss with a much more difficult level, in the beta test itself the difficulty level reached 6 levels. with each floor having an increase in difficulty from the previous. This makes players continue to feel challenged to be able to set the right strategy in determining the skills of each character or echo they use.
So, that's some information that you can get on the reasons why you should try playing Wuthering Waves which will be released soon. For those of you who want to play it, Wuthering Waves will be released on May 23, 2024, on PC, iOS, and Android.
