Who doesn’t know PewDiePie? Real named Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, he has been famous on YouTube, even can be said as the legend of this platform by Google. Felix’s Early Life

Before famous as YouTuber these days, let us take back to his childhood days first. Felix was born and raised in Gothenburg, Sweden, in 1989. His parents are Lotta Kristine Kjellberg (née: Johanna) and Ulf Christian Kjellberg. He was raised along with his older sister, Fanny.
Since he was young, Felix was very fond of arts and wanted to design famous video game characters like Mario dan Sonic in the future. Also, Felix, at that time, already played video games using his console, Super Nintendo.
Like other kids around his age, young Felix was a delinquent. He often skipped classes just to playing games in an internet cafe along with his friends.
After graduated from high school, he decided to enroll in the Chalmers University of Technology, took Industrial Engineering, and majored in Economical Engineering. But in 2011, he chose to drop out because he was surfeited.
After dropping out of college, he then focusing on YouTube. His parents did not support his decision, however, as his parents didn’t want to help him financially.
He later tried to get a job according to his passion, a photo manipulator by participating in a Photoshop contest. Sadly, he failed to win the competition and sold his masterpiece; even one time, he sold Hot Dogs for living before he was able to purchase a computer and became a YouTuber.
The Forming of PewDiePie Name
Felix already registered on Youtube since 2006 with “Pewdie” as his username. He stated that the “Pew” was taken from laser sound from the Star Wars franchise and “Die” combined. Because he forgot his password, he returned to Youtube on April 29, 2010, with a new name, “PewDiePie.”
PewDiePie’s Journey on YouTube
At the beginning of his YouTube career, PewDiePie became a commentator of an Action and Horror game, including other popular games like Minecraft and Call of Duty. He also created a Youtube video titled “Let’s Play” as the name of his video. Unexpectedly, it turned out that his horror content like Amnesia: The Dark Descent, loved by YouTube viewers, this became a good omen for him.
In December 2011, PewDiePie started to create a weekly vlog titled “Fridays with PewDiePie.” In this year also, Pewds ( short of his name) received a total of 60.000 subscribers and growing extensively in September 2012 with a total of subscribers for 2.000.000.
Next year, PewDiePie received a 5 million subscriber as well as an award titled “Swedish Social Star” from Social Stars Awards, which held in Singapore. With his subscribers kept growing, in August 2013, he was honored by Guinness World Record as YouTuber with the most subscribers.
In 2014, PewDiePie started to play various video game genres, aside from Horror ones. In March 2014, Pewds announced a frequency degradation of videos he uploaded. In the same year, Maker Studio created an official application for him for the iPhone that consisted of his videos.
At the end of 2014, PewDiePie was shocked with total subscribers for 14 million with video watched for 7 billion times -- became the most subscribers as well as the total amount of viewers in the world until the arrival of T-Series.
PewDiePie vs. T-Series

In 2017, PewDiePie met his rival, a company from India, T-Series. In the same year, T-Series managed to take over his title as the most subscribers. To defeat T-Series, Pewds helped with other YouTubers, including MrBeast or Jimmy Donaldson.
Jimmy willingly to purchase a billboard and radio advertisement for people to subscribe Pewds. He also created an exclusive video where he said “PewDiePie” for 100.000 times in 12 hours straight.
A hacker, HacketGirrafe, who contributed for this cause by ordering 50.000 printers to print a message that said, “PewDiePie is in trouble, and he needs your help to defeat T-Series!” All hackers pushed their victims to subscribe to PewDiePie, unsubscribe T-Series, and fixing their printers.
In response to his trend, Pewds eventually wrote a song to diss track for T-Series titled “Bitch Lasagna.” Then on April 28, 2018, PewDiePie released a video and gave a message to his fans to stop doing that (helping him). Eventually, the rivalry of these channels ended and won by T-Series with total subscribers for 122 million (as for now).
Meeting Marzia

Back in 2011, PewDiePie greeted Marzia Bisognin. After introducing themselves, Pewds decided to had a relationship with Marzia via the internet. Pewds later flew to Italy and met her. In 2013, the couple moved to Brighton & Hove, Great Britain, and decided to live near the beach and completed with a better internet connection.
After in a relationship for eight years, finally, PewDiePie and Marzia officially married on August 19, 2019.
The Return of Let’s Play in 2019 and PewDiePie’s Future
Precisely in June 2019, PewDiePie introduced “Gaming Week,” where he focused uploading Let’s Play video every day for the first time after a long hiatus. From all the games he played, it turned out that PewDiePie enjoyed Minecraft the most and known as Minecraft YouTuber.
His decision to become a Minecraft YouTuber receives positive responses from his fans. Because of this, his channel grows significantly, even on July 2019, his channel managed to hook 570 million viewers.
On August 25, Felix became the only Youtube creator who successfully received subscribers for more than 100 million and congratulated by Youtube, as he shared via Twitter. Not only that, but YouTube also gave Red Diamond Button for him.
In December 2019, PewDiePie is included in YouTube Rewind 2019 and becomes the creator with the most viewers this year for 4 billion times.
