VALORANT is undeniably one of the most popular FPS games. The unique combat system and the tactical shooter elements as well as the skills from each Agent make this game so exciting for players. The massive success of VALORANT has prompted the Chinese game developer, NetEase, into making a similar game called Project M.
The name Project M may also be a reference to VALORANT’s early name before its release, Project A (short for Project Ares). Based on the trailer, Project M looks so similar to VALORANT. From the skills to the gameplay.
NetEase also seems to be “borrowing” the skills of some VALORANT Agents, such as Sage’s Barrier Wall; Sova’s Drone; or Brimstone’s Tactical Smoke.
NetEase -- a known rival to Riot Games shareholder, Tencent -- seems to be making its move after seeing the overwhelming market of VALORANT PC and is trying to bring it on the mobile market. Project M is believed to be in beta and is available for selected people.
As for Riot Games, it’s also reported that the company is currently developing VALORANT mobile. However, Riot is yet to announced more details about the mobile version.
