One of the interesting gimmicks in the superhero-themed manga like One Punch Man is hero ranks. The Hero Association has 17 strongest heroes who are categorized into S-class. S-class heroes can deal with God-level threats or above.

Surprisingly, of all the strongest heroes, there is no Saitama, the main character of the series, who is clearly overpowered. It's funny when only readers know that the Hero Association made a mistake by including King, an ordinary human, into S-class instead of the unrivaled Saitama.

The following is a list of S class heroes sorted by rank.

17. Puri-Puri Prisoner

Despite occupying the lowest number, this flamboyant prisoner has a stocky body, plus the hairs on the body that add strength. As the name implies, Puri-Puri Prisoner wears a black-and-white striped model costume in the style of a prisoner.

16. Tanktop Master

Tanktop Master is a hero who feels his strength comes from his costume, which is a tight sleeveless top. Tanktop Master is a hero who has many followers who both like sleeveless tops.

15. Metal Bat

Bad alias Metal Bat fights only with a baseball bat. However, it is enough to make him invincible. Monster after monster can be defeated with his metal baseball bat.

14. Genos

A cyborg who admires Saitama and makes the Caped Baldy his mentor. In the first chapter, with fire coming out of his hands, Genos was able to defeat the insect that even Saitama couldn't beat.

13. Flashy Flash

A swordsman who has powers like The Flash. As the name implies, Flashy Flash is the fastest superhero in One Punch Man. With his swordsmanship, Flashy Flash can defeat monsters in no time.

12. Watchdog Man

Dressed in a stuffed dog costume, Watchdog Man behaves like a feline. Even though his facial expression is flat, his fighting ability is above average. With his bare hands, Watchdog Man can defeat his enemies.

11. Superalloy Darkshine

Similar to Saitama, this muscular hero gets his strength from extreme physical training. From the consistency of building his body muscles, Superalloy Darkshine appears as a hero with super muscles and shines.

10. Pig God

With the fat on his body, Pig God can withstand various attacks from his opponents. Pig God can defeat monsters by eating them. He can put fallen heroes into his mouth, and then run away from the battlefield to regurgitate the fallen heroes.

9. Drive Knight

Unlike Genos, who is categorized as a half-robot, aka cyborg, Drive Knight is a true robot. His strength is the tactical transformation that adapts to the opponent. One of his iconic forms of transformation is the centaur form.

8. Zombie Man

The power of Zombie Man is like Deadpool who has the ability to regenerate in a short amount of time. This makes Zombie Man unable to die even though he has been destroyed many times and even killed by monsters.

7. King

We could say King's real strength is luck. King has survived from monsters because of his fierce look many times, and assisted by Saitama. However, Saitama also respects King who can defeat the main character… in video games.

6. Metal Knight

The robot is said to be controlled by a scientist from a distance. It might be like the remote-controlled Iron Man combat armor. So far, Metal Knight is still a mystery.

5. Child Emperor

He looks like a school kid with his backpack. What's surprising is that the bag is like Doraemon's magic pocket that can issue futuristic, advanced tools. Armed with the technology he created, this little boy has defeated monsters that terrorized the city.

4. Atomic Samurai

A swordsman who can mince monsters into a size of an atom. While other heroes appear in futuristic costumes and advanced technologies, Atomic Samurai's appearance is like that of ancient swordsmen.

3. Silver Fang

Just like Shang-Chi, Silver Fang only relies on martial arts in every fight. Silver Fang aka Bang is the teacher of Garou who is a hero hunter.

2. Tatsumaki

With the power of telekinesis, Tatsumaki defeats her enemies. This mage type hero can fly and destroy monsters with psychic powers. We could say Tatsumaki is One Punch Man's version of Scarlet Witch.

1. Blast

Initially, Blast is shown as a mysterious figure as the 1st S-hero. However, his appearance actually seemed to be covered by Garou's dominance. Blast seemed overwhelmed by Garou who can imitate his moves.

After checking the profiles of 17 S-class heroes, it looks like the Hero Association has prepared a special class for Saitama. Because Saitama is still superior to even a 1st S-class hero.
