The 2025 Esports World Cup is getting closer. Various big Esports teams in the world are competing to prepare themselves by forming new divisions and recruiting well-known players to be able to compete in this annual event.

This was also carried out by a large team from Indonesia, namely RRQ, which is also part of this year's EWC Partnership program team. Through its official social media account, the RRQ team announced the formation of the Tekken 8 division and recruited a top player from South Korea, JDCR.

You can see the announcement video at here.

JDCR itself will compete under the RRQ flag for the first time at the EVO Japan event which will take place from 9-11 May 2025. This year's EVO Japan event is part of the qualifications to get a slot for EWC 2025 which will take place next August.

About JDCR

Kim "JDCR" Hyun-jin is considered one of the most successful modern Tekken players. He is known for his Heihachi and Armor King in Tekken Tag Tournament 2. He managed to become EVO champion for that game in 2014.

After Tekken 7 was released in South Korea in 2017, he racked up many major tournament wins on the first Tekken World Tour circuit. He also often beats his friend, rival and fellow South Korean player, Saint, with his aggressive Dragunov pick technique.

His streak of tournament wins peaked at EVO 2017, where he won his second title, again by defeating Saint. Both players signed with American Esports organization Echo Fox on February 6, 2017, and represented the team until October 2018.

Entering the Tekken 8 period, JDCR then joined the French team Karmine Corp in May 2024, and left in early 2025. Until finally in May 2025 he joined RRQ.
