Previously, we’ve seen how Tanjiro, Genya, and Nezuko worked together to protect the village to the best of their abilities. However, the three of them weren’t enough to take down the Upper Rank Four Hantengu and the manifestation of his emotions. In the recently released episode 7, Tanjiro, Nezuko, Genya, and Muichiro still try to get rid of the Upper Moon demons from the village. Here’s a review of Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village Arc Episode 7 by Dunia Games. Without further ado, let’s get into it.
Demon Slayer Swordsmith Village Arc Episode 7 Review
A New Demon
Despite the fact that in the previous episode Genya and Tanjiro managed to find the core of the fourth primal emotions of Hantengu, it turns out that killing him is an even more difficult task. Just when Tanjiro just about to decapitate the demon’s head, Tanjiro has to deal with another demon. The demon is the fifth of Hantengu’s primal emotions. The new demon is a combination of his anger, joy, pleasure, and sorrow, known as “Zohakuten”.
His presence is certainly a threat to Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Genya. Tanjiro even feels suffocated and enormous pain just by seeing Zohakuten. His aura is so powerful, Genya can’t even stand on his feet and starts getting drenched in cold sweat. But based on his prediction, the main body of Hantengu’s demons lie in his fear demon. Whereas Zohakuten is the hatred manifestation of Hantengu.
Interestingly, Zohakuten isn’t a separate manifestation unlike Hantengu’s previous four. As a matter of fact, he consumed the other three demons, joy, pleasure, and sorrow to become one. He also looks unlike the four demons, this demon looks younger and even childlike.
Haganezuka Gets Unmasked
While Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Genya try their best dealing with Hantengu, Muichiro still tries to get out of Gyokko’s jug. Muichiro gets trapped in the jug, rendering him immobile. Gyokko gets bored and moves towards a hut that Muichiro tries to protect. In that hut, Haganezuka is forging Tanjiro’s sword. In the previous episode, it’s shown that the sword was found by Tanjiro and Kotetsu in a Yoriichi Type Zero doll that is over 300 years old.
Since it’s an incredible discovery, Haganezuka has been obsessed with restoring the sword. As a matter of fact, he doesn’t even aware of Gyokko who approaches the hut. Gyokko even whips his back with his water attacks, Haganezuka doesn't lose his concentration at all. This angers Gyokko, as Haganezuka is so focused on his craft and ignores him. Gyokko is determined to break his concentration before actually killing him. Gyokko considers this as proof that he is an even better artist.
Gyokko attacks Haganezuka multiple times, one of these attacks eventually manages to damage Haganezuka's mask, revealing his face for the first time. Despite the strange-looking mask, his real face underneath it looks nothing like it. Haganezuka has attractive facial features. However, he still continues his work.
Tanjiro Reminds Muichiro of His Father
Gyokko abandons Muichiro who can't move in the jug. Muichiro makes his last effort in issuing a breathing technique that might help him get free of the trap. However, his efforts are futile, and this makes Muichiro almost give up and even starts to accept his doom.
At that very moment, he even apologizes to Kagaya Ubuyashiki for the state that he's in. But as soon as his vision starts to blur, Muichiro sees Tanjiro encouraging him not to give up. But Muichiro feels that who he saw was not Tanjiro, as Tanjiro never said such words. At that time, Kotetsu comes and tries to stab Gyokko's water to save Muichiro.
But of course, Kotetsu's effort isn't fruitful. Even so, despite the danger from the demons, Kotetsu still tries to help Muichiro. This makes Muichiro get up and start thinking of a breathing technique that could get him out of the water bubble. In the end, Muichiro manages to get out of Gyokko's water jug with his second mist breathing technique, which reminds him of Tanjiro who has red eyes like his father. Now it makes sense, the reason Muichiro Tokito cares so much about what Tanjiro says to him, is because Tanjiro reminds him of his father, whom he forgot due to his amnesia.
So, that was our review of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc episode 7. This episode may feel shorter as it focuses mainly on Hantengu, Haganezuka’s real face, and how Muichiro overcomes his despair, as well as his past. Don’t forget to watch every episode of the 3rd season of Demon Slayer.
