The June 2025 Mobile Legends patch update had introduced a major shift in early game tempo. One of the most impactful changes had come from the adjustment to EXP lane minions, which had started granting more experience during the first five minutes of the game.

This adjustment had forced both junglers and roamers to reconsider their early rotations. In the past, early ganks were often directed toward the Gold Lane. However, with the EXP lane now offering greater value, it had become a more profitable target to pressure.

This point had been emphasized by veteran analyst and caster KB in his latest content. "For me, this is the most interesting part. EXP Laners are now required to be much more careful in the early game," KB began in his analysis.

He had pointed out that between the second and fifth minutes, ganking the Gold Lane might no longer be the optimal play, since Gold Laners primarily focused on farming. "From the second to the fifth minute, it’s not always ideal to gank the Gold Laner. They're mostly just farming during that period," he explained.

New Early Game Rotation in MLBB

In contrast, EXP Laners had now become ideal targets for early pressure. "The EXP cart now gives more rewards (until the fifth minute). So it’s better to pressure the EXP Laner between the second and fifth minute. Around the third minute, after the first Turtle," KB added.

By shutting down the enemy EXP Laner early, a team could prevent them from scaling into the mid-game, especially for key teamfights and map objectives. This strategy had quickly risen as one of the most effective paths toward early game dominance.

"You can rotate to the EXP Lane. Because if you shut down the enemy’s EXP Laner, by the time the second or third Turtle spawns, they won’t have enough power from that lane. That’s what you can use to snowball," KB emphasized further.

This new approach also had shifted how teams approached jungle pathing. Roamers were now encouraged to rotate early toward the top side of the map to assist with zoning or initiating ganks on the opposing EXP Laner. Meanwhile, Gold Laners and supports were better off playing safe and waiting for their power spike.

When executed with proper coordination, this strategy had proven to be extremely effective. An EXP Laner who fell behind in the first five minutes might struggle to recover, making major objectives like Turtle or Lord fights significantly harder for their team.

For teams aiming to adapt to the latest meta, KB’s insights served as a valuable blueprint. The EXP Lane was no longer just a side lane—it had become the key to controlling the game from the very start.
