Currently One Piece’s mangaka, Eiichiro Oda is in the stage of going on hiatus first for a few weeks. The Yonko Saga arc ended where Big Mom and Kaido were declared defeated in the battle. Luffy, Eustass Kid and Trafalgar Law managed to become decisive figures in the fight at Wano.

The question is whether Luffy will then face Shanks in the last Saga planned by Eiichiro Oda after his hiatus. The reason is, Shanks is one of the Yonko who is quite influential in the New World. To become the Pirate King, Luffy must kill all the Yonko. But will this happen? Will Luffy fight Shanks?

Can Be True Because of Several Factors

This fight could have happened due to several factors. First, Luffy can fight with Shanks because he really intends to kill all the Yonko in the ocean. If it refers to this, then he will subdue Kaido, Big Mom, Shanks and Blackbeard. But even though he wants to beat four Yonko, currently Luffy only kills one Yonko, Kaido.

On the other hand, Big Mom was beaten by Law and Kid. But even so, both Law and Kid are Luffy's alliance. So this is included in Luffy's plan as well. But what about Shanks? Will Luffy fight him? If he wants to kill all Yonko then the answer is yes.

Shanks is also connected with the Gorosei who are one of the main antagonists of One Piece. If Shanks and Gorosei's relationship is friends and Shanks is secretly a supervisor to get Luffy's devil fruit back, then they need to fight each other.

The reason is, so far Luffy really hates the World Government for acting arbitrarily. If Oda puts Ace as an ally of the Gorosei, then the fight will take place.

Can Be False Due to Several Factors

Shanks' battle against Luffy is not considered going to happen because Shanks might position himself as an ally for Luffy. He was willing to lose his hand to protect Luffy from sea monsters. He also wanted to come to MarineFord to end the war which obviously Luffy was there too.

If Shanks' relationship with the Gorosei turns out to be not a friend but an enemy, then the fight between the two will not happen. It could be that Shanks maintains a relationship with the Gorosei because he wants to monitor the behavior of the Pirates who are currently reigning, one of them is Luffy.

Shanks may still remember his relationship with Luffy in the first episode and he will probably keep a close eye on him. It could be that Shanks and Luffy will indeed meet, but Luffy might just want to return his hat or do some sparring between comrades like Ace did with Mihawk.

Whatever happens, everything is still a mystery and all possibilities can happen. Oda is also known as a writer who really likes to give fans surprises.
