Sanz’s underperformance has become one of the hot topics in MPL ID Season 15. ONIC Esports have not been playing as strongly this season, and Sanz has been one of the players believed to have not performed up to his usual standards.

Sanz has been considered one of the best players in Indonesia—not just as a Mid Laner, but also as one of the most mechanically gifted players in the modern MPL era.

For many seasons, Sanz has consistently been seen as the top Mid Laner, with no one quite measuring up to his level.

But this season, things have changed. Sanz has not been as sharp as he used to be. He has seemingly lost his touch, and at times has shown questionable positioning during matches.

ONIC have recorded an imperfect run so far with 3 wins and 4 losses—a record that’s unusual for a team that has long been dominant at the top of the standings.

So, has Sanz truly underperformed? And how has he responded to the criticism?

Sanz Has Stayed Unbothered by the Underperformance Talks

During a press conference held in the middle of MPL ID S15, Dunia Games asked Sanz about his apparent performance drop and the rise of other Mid Laners like Rinz, who have been considered to catch up to him.

Sanz, known for his laid-back personality, has remained unfazed. He has admitted that he has never been affected by criticism coming from the outside.

“Things like that (criticisms or hate from netizens) are not something I’ll ever think about. I’ve stayed chill and it hasn’t affected me at all. Whatever they want to say or criticize, it won’t affect my team or my life either,” Sanz said.

In the end, Sanz has remained a seasoned player with deep experience in the scene. He seems to have stopped worrying about whatever criticism may come his way.

ONIC themselves have still been searching for their best composition. They've already made multiple changes to the roster—especially in the EXP Lane, which has seen four different players so far this season: Rezz, Nnael, Lutpii, and Ryota.

It will be interesting to see how Sanz performs moving forward. Will he return to his former peak form, or will he continue to struggle to find his rhythm?
