Torikago is one of the deadly techniques of Donquixote Doflamingo which he used to confine the citizens of Dressrosa. It is a form of giant strings that surround the city, and the whole strings-structure looks like a birdcage. Back then, not a single resident of the city could get past the Torikago, including Admiral Fujitora. 

The movements of this technique can be restrained, but not destroyed. Several buildings were chopped up after being shifted and got in contact with the Torikago. No one dares to try to get past the Torikago ‘cause it could slice up their body into pieces. The only way to get rid of it is by defeating the user. Doflamingo.

In SBS One Piece column volume 78, one of the fans asked: “Oda-sensei, Buggy would be able to get past the Bird Cage (Torikago), wouldn’t he?”. Oda the answered: “You’re right, He would. Even if you put him in the birdcage with his crewmates, he would still escape by himself!”

The reader even included a self-made illustration of how Buggy would escape from the Torikago. From Oda’s response to the question, we could conclude that of the hundreds or even thousands of people trapped in the Torikago, only Buggy who could escape from the technique. Then, would Buggy still be able to escape if the Torikago was imbued with Haki? The answer is yes, of course!

No matter what’s imbued in the Torikago, as long as there’s the slightest of gaps, Buggy can escape from it. It’s seen from one of the scenes in the Marineford arc. Buggy encountered Mihawk who sliced up his body into tiny pieces and he was able to survive such a devastating attack without being injured at all.

Speaking of the power possessed by Buggy, has he been separating his body at will when receiving an opponent’s attack? In the writer’s opinion, he doesn’t, it seems impossible that Buggy has better reflexes than the Strongest Swordsman in the World, Mihawk.

Despite that amazing ability, Buggy can’t be killed by any kind of blade or melee weapons that directly hits his body anyway.
