This is Oda's explanation regarding Baron Tamago being practically immortal in One Piece!
Anime & Manga | 03 June
Baron Tamago ate the Tama Tama no Mi which allows him to transform into a chicken every time he is killed. Interestingly, Oda explained that Baron Tamago cannot die, or in other words, immortal. How is that possible? Take a look at the article below!
In the column SBS One Piece volume 87, a reader asked "Baron Tamago has the power of Tama Tama no Mi, so, after transforming into Count Niwatori, how can he return to Baron Tamago?" Oda answered it while providing a picture below!
“Tamago comes after Niwatori. After Baron Tamago is killed, Hiyoko appears. If Viscount Hiyoko is killed, then Niwatori is born. If Niwatori is killed, then he will return to life as Baron Tamago, and so on”, answered Oda. From Oda's answer, it can be concluded that Baron Tamago is immortal after eating Tama Tama no Mi.
