Even though One Piece Film: RED is a non-canon film, it is certain that one of the main characters in the film, Uta, is a canon character. This was confirmed by Eiichiro Oda in SBS One Piece Film: RED. In chapter 1055, there is a silhouette of Uta which makes fans wonder.

Oda confirmed that the silhouette was indeed Uta. With this, Uta is confirmed as a canon character in One Piece. Although in the Film: RED Uta died, it is very likely that in the manga she is still alive. It is possible that Uta will appear in a future plot as the daughter of Shanks.

Oda also added that Uta had never heard of Luffy's real dream. More precisely, Oda might correct this because, in the introductory episode of Film: RED yesterday, Uta had heard about Luffy's real dream. Let's wait for Uta's appearance and what kind of role she will play for Luffy in the future.
