The group led by Rocks D. Xebec consists of several figures who became big names such as Charlotte Linlin or Big Mom, Kaido, Shirohige, Shiki the Golden Lion, and Captain John. From all of the names mentioned, Captain John is the stranger for us.

Captain John’s treasure is famous in the pirate world that even Buggy mentioned it a couple of times. Buggy is intrigued by the legendary pirate that he explores every island he passes. Unfortunately, he’s imprisoned in Impel Down because he digs the island that’s owned by the Marines.

On this occasion, the writer will share the past of Captain John, according to SBS One Piece volume 49. During the Thriller Bark arc, we saw the body of Captain John that was used as a zombie. The reason being Captain John has passed away, and Gecko Moria happens to find the body.

He was stabbed to death by his crew members that want to hide the treasures. After Captain John passed away, the location of the treasure becomes a legend. From the answer provided by Oda, we can guess that Captain John died because his crew betrayed him.

Maybe Captain John is betrayed because he never shares his treasures with his crews? Is Captain John an excellent fighter? It seems like he isn’t, since if he is strong, then Captain John won’t die in the hands of his crew. If he is strong, then he becomes a powerful zombie commander like Ryuma.

Up until this moment, the whereabouts of Captain John’s treasure is unknown. Those are Captain John’s past explained by Oda in SBS One Piece volume 49.
