SEGA recently shared additional tidbits about the storyline of the upcoming in-game Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, revealing deep insight into key characters in Daidoji Faction, including the mysterious figure, Akame.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is a spin-off title set between the events of Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

Akame: A Mysterious Strong Figure in Sotenbori

One of the central characters in this game is Akame, a versatile individual who resides in Sotenbori, a large entertainment district in Osaka, Japan. This mysterious figure becomes involved with Kiryu's journey when the two cross paths in carrying out assignments for the Daidoji faction. 

Famed for their deep connections to the Sotenbori underworld, Akame operates the "Akame Network," an intelligence network composed mostly of the city's homeless. Kiryu collaborates with Akame, engaging in risky missions that strengthen their bond while resolving conflicts in the criminal underworld, as well as overcoming the problems of rampant poverty industry.

Key Figures in the Daidoji Faction

In the storyline, Kiryu operates under the pseudonym "Joryu" for the Daidoji Faction, a secret organization. The story reveals Kiryu's interactions with important figures in the Daidoji Faction, revealing their unique roles and characters.

• Yoshimura (voice by Mitsuaki Kanuka)

The ruthless manager of the Daidoji Faction, Yoshimura puts the organization above all else and ruthlessly eliminates threats against it. He is openly disgusted by Kiryu's lack of loyalty.

• Boss (voice by Hiroshi Naka)

A high-ranking officer operating in the shadows, little is known about the Boss, except for his influence within the Daidoji Faction. He forced Kiryu to fulfill the promise he had made.

• Head Priest (voice by Ikkyu Juku)

The spiritual leader of the Daidoji Faction, the Head Priest, has transcended worldly desires. He finds peace in playing the board game Go and has a special relationship with Kiryu.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is slated for a global release on November 9, 2023, for multiple platforms including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
