“Tiger Shot!”, that’s what Kojiro Hyuga yells when he carries out his mainstay technique. The ball goes to the goal with massive power, like a tiger pouncing on its prey. In addition to Tiger Shot, Kojiro Hyuga has many other shooting techniques that are far more destructive. Here’s a list of them!

1. Neo Tiger Shot

To put it simply, this one is an evolution of the Tiger Shot, surely with greater power. Neo Tiger Shot was used by Hyuga in the Junior World Cup against Italy. Tsubasa who repeatedly tried to score against Gino Hernandez on the goalline to no result. It’s not easy to score a single goal against the best young European goalkeeper.

But upon receiving the Neo Tiger Shot from Hyuga, Hernandez wasn’t able to stop the ball from going into the net. It was so devastatingly powerful, Hernandez got his right hand injured by trying to stop it. The terrifying shot led the Japan national youth team progresses into the next round of the tournament.

2. Raiju Shot

Hyuga learned this technique after being humiliated by Hino Ryoma when facing RJ7. With a rigorous training at the top of a mountain, Hyuga managed to master the Raiju Shot that split a three into two. Hyuga made up for the previous defeat by scoring against RJ7 using this technique and eventually won the match.

Raiju Shot is performed by dragging the tip of the toes against the ground to give the ball more spin. Then, just when it goes near the goalkeeper, the shot rises sharply.

3. Stormy Resurrection

This technique was performed by Hyuga when he trained on the shorelines of Okinawa just ahead of the final against Nankatsu Junior High. With the direction from coach Kira, Hyuga, who didn’t want to suffer a defeat from Tsubasa, kept on using the black ball in his training sessions. 

He kept on kicking the much heavier ball toward the waves until the Stormy Resurrection was created.  But keep in mind, that this technique only exists in Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team.

4. Brave Tiger Shot

This is a Tiger Shot that Hyuga unleashes with all his might, using his full power. Hyuga would risk everything by performing the Brave Tiger Shot. This technique is highly dangerous as it could make Hyuga got his leg injured. Again, this one also only exists in Captain Tsubasa: Dream Team.

5. Kourin Raiju Shot

Different from the Raiju Shot, this technique is performed by jumping into the air while using Jito’s back as the springboard. Kourin Raiju Shot roughly translates into Raiju Shot from the sky. And of course, this variation is as powerful as the Raiju Shot.

6. Jumping Raiju Shot

Jumping Raiju Shot is a combination shot between Tsubasa and Hyuga, which they used when facing Uruguay. By using Tsubasa’s foot as a platform, Hyuga launches Raiju Shot in the air. Similar to the Kourin Raiju Shot, the ball raises sharply as it goes to the goal.

7. Superspeed Kickback Cannon [Tiger]

This is another combination technique that Hyuga performs with Tsubasa. This technique was first shown in the Rising Sun manga series. When Tsubasa was stopped by a defender in front of him, he proceeds to give a pass to Hyuga. Then Hyuga follows it through by unleashing a first-time shot to the goal.
