After Sony Interactive Entertainment officially announced PlayStation 5 design, several gamers made a prediction about its size. A Redditor made a size comparison based on the USB port and Disk Drive. Recently a photo shows how big is the console straight out of the factory.

Citing Kompas.com, the image shows the tall PlayStation 5. You can see the man in the picture holding the console with both hands. And you can directly compare the size of PlayStation 5 to his body.

The photo shows three workers wearing a light blue vest inside a factory, possibly a PS5 factory. The man in the middle is carrying PlayStation 5. In the photo, we get to see the flat side of the console because it facing sideways. We can also see the PlayStation logo on the top left corner.

The massive size of PlayStation 5 is confirmed by the Vice President of UX Design PlayStation, Matt MacLaurin that stated that PlayStation 5’s massive size is necessary to fit the 7nm semiconductor that can generate amazing graphics for a console. The console’s performance will generate a lot of heat, so it requires a ‘space’ to disperse the heat.

Not just a fast processor, PlayStation 5 also uses an SSD (Solid-State Drive). The SSD’s transfer rate is faster than the HDD used in PS4.
