Edward Newgate or more known as Shirohige is often called the strongest human in the world. At Marine Ford, He caused huge damage with his power Gura Gura no Mi. But sadly he’s killed when he tried to save his precious son, Ace.

Shirohige also prefers family over wealth. In an SBS column, Oda sensei explained that Shirohige is wearing a headband or banda since he was a boy with a spear as his weapon. It turns out the weapon he uses was inspired by the weapon he used when he was a kid. Just look at the picture below!

It’s the secret about Shirohige’s hairstyle. Up until his death, Shirohige never takes his bandana off. When he was young and had long hair, Shirohige still wore the bandana. Did you ever think that SHirohige is actually bald and the hair is a wig that’s a part of his bandana? 

Turns out a loyal reader One Piece asked this question to Oda in the SBS column. Here’s the question, “Hello Oda sensei, Shirohige always wear a bandana to wrap his head, is it because he is bald? I want you to draw the hairstyle that he has”. The question manage to grab Oda sensei’s attention.

In the SBS column volume 86, Oda answered this question. Oda said “According to rumors, this is his hairstyle”, while providing an image of how Shirohige’s hairstyle looks like. It was an unexpected drawing, the hair is shaped like a mustache  

Is his hairstyle the reason for his nickname? Oda said that it’s according to rumors because he never planned to draw Shirohige without his bandana. So maybe from the beginning, Oda never thought of Shirohige’s hairstyle.
