It’s been 15 years since God of War is released. The story of the half man half god named Kratos is still interesting to follow. Even gamers today still plays the game with the PlayStation console. 1. God of War - PS4 (2018)

Last 2018, Sony and Santa Monica Studios released God of War for PlayStation 4. This God of War game presents the new adventure of Kratos in the new world. Where Kratos is stranded in Skandinavia and starts a new life and leave his past as the God of War after defeating Ares and slaughtering the gods of Olympus.

In the new world, Kratos marries a woman from the Nordic race named Faye. The pair is blessed with a son they name Atreus. After Faye’s death, Kratos and Atreus are faced with a situation that forces them to move and meet the gods of Nordic mythology.

With the stunning visual and amazing storyline, it’s not surprising to say that God of War is a game worthy of playing, even today. Especially with the 4K and HDR support that will only add more to the realistic graphic.

2. God of War 2 - PS2 (2007)

When asked about the best classic God of War game then the right answer is God of War 2 released for PlayStation 2 last 2007. The second game of the franchise is the best action game to ever released for PS2. Santa Monica Studios successfully develop an amazing action game that made the players truly enjoy the epic battles in the game. The battle strategy in this game varies and the narration greatly evokes the players’ emotion.

The second game is like the complete product of the first game with bigger battles and also improved. You can see how Kratos slaughter the Spartans and the gods of Olympus.

3. God of War 3 - PS3 (2010)

God of War 3 is a part of the God of War trilogy. In the third game, the players will control Kratos that climbed Olympus alongside Gaia. The third game didn’t present much of the storyline but more of the hack and slash action to fight the remaining god of Olympus and end the chaos.

The third game exists to answer what gamers have been asking for after playing the first and the second game. This game was released first for PlayStation 3 but then Sony and Santa Monica Studious released the Remastered version for Playstation 4. So now you can enjoy the game in improved visuals.

4. God of War - PS2 (2005)

If you just started following the God of War franchise, it’s best if you play the first God of War game. Yup, in the first game you will learn about the backstory of Kratos and why he started slaughtering the gods of Olympus. The graphics of the cool looked far ahead of its time in PlayStation 2. However, you don’t have to worry if you don’t own a PS2 since you can play the game using an emulator from your PC or PlayStation 3 using the Remastered version.

5. God of War: Ascension - PS3 (2013)

Sony and Santa Monica Studios released two God of War games for PlayStation 2. Both companies then released the next God of War game for PlayStation3 titled God of War: Ascension. The game emphasized Kratos’s life as a human, not as the god-killer we usually known him. The story was first told in the God of War game for PSP.

The story started 6 months after Kratos’s family was killed. The Spartan warrior promised to get revenge on Ares, the god of war. He lacks the battle experiences he has in the past games, so Kratos with his Blade of Chaos and his hidden power will challenge the gods.

You can play God of War: Ascension on your PLayStation4 with the PS3 to PS4 feature. Where Ascension is one of the PS3 games that can be played on PS4 although there’s no remastered version of the game.

6. God of War: Ghost of Sparta - PSP (2010)

To satisfy gamers who were disappointed with Chains of Olympus, Sony and Santa Monica Studios released God of War: Ghost of Sparta. The second game has a grander graphic and more brutal than the first game. The game awes a lot of gamers and made them leave positive response. Ghost of Sparta told us about the good side of Kratos, where he is still the dutiful husband and father for his family.

Additionally, the graphic of Chains of Olympus is on par with the graphic of God of War games released for PlayStation2. The game told us about the human side of Kratos when he met his daughter. Unfortunately, the gameplay and the playtime duration left the fans disappointed with the game.

8. God of War: A Call From The Wild - Facebook (2018)

In Promoting the God of War game released for PlayStation 4, Sony and Santa Monica Studios released an adventure game utilizing Facebook’s messenger feature. In the game, you are tasked with obtaining 8 artworks if you managed to survive. The game relied heavily on word puzzle so it may get boring quickly. 9. God of War: Betrayal - Mobile (2007)

No one expected to see the God of War franchise released for mobile devices. The game developed by Sony Online Entertainment was released for mobile devices and based on Java. with a 2D side-scrolling visual typical of phones in 2007, you will follow the journey of Kratos slaughtering the gods of Olympus.
