The Black Adam film itself is scheduled to be released on October 21, 2022 in theaters globally. However, DC fans can see it sooner in Indonesia. Warner Bros. Indonesia had announced that the Black Adam film would be broadcast starting on October 19, 2022 in Indonesian cinemas.

Previously, the Black Adam film had a world premiere in the presence of the main cast on October 13, 2022.

Synopsis of Black Adam

The Black Adam film has become a part of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The story begins when five thousand years ago, a slave from Kahndaq named Teth-Adam (Dwayne Johnson) got superpowers from the gods of Egypt. He was given that power to free the Kahndaq people from rampant slavery.

However, Teth-Adam was unable to control himself while helping the Kahndaq people to become independent. Finally, Teth-Adam was imprisoned by an ancient wizard named Shazam because he was deemed unworthy of having these superpowers.

In modern times, the Kahndaq region is also not truly independent because they are now colonized by the criminal organization Intergang. After thousands of years, Teth-Adam has become an unknown legend.

Until one day a revolutionary fighter named Adrianna Tomaz (Sarah Shahi) managed to find traces of Teth-Adam's grave while being hunted by the Intergang herd. With her knowledge, Tomaz then released Teth-Adam from his prison. So that the legendary hero in the eyes of the citizens of Kahnaq then rose and killed all the Intergang troops.

After slaughtering all the other Intergang troops, finally Black Adam was again hailed by the citizens of Kahndaq. However, he is reluctant to call himself a hero because he keeps a dark secret. Teth-Adam's brutality at Kahndaq finally catches the attention of Carter Hall (Aldis Hodge) aka Hawkman. He is the leader of the Justice Society, a superhero organization tasked with maintaining world stability.

Justice Society is a group of superheroes who have the principle to maintain peace without killing criminals, because they are considered entitled to be tried. However, Teth-Adam's sadistic actions prompted the Justice Society to come to Kahndaq to arrest him. Hawkman then invited three members of the Justice Society to join. They are Kent Nelson (Pierce Brosnan) aka Doctor Fate, Maxine Hunkel (Quintessa Swindell) aka Cyclone, and Albert Rothstein (Noah Centineo) aka Atom Smasher.

The Justice Society finally confronted Teth-Adam and asked him to turn himself in to prevent further brutality. However, he refused because he felt it was his responsibility to protect Kahnaq from Intergang.

Members of the Justice Society and Teth-Adam then fought several times in the middle of tough negotiations. Until finally the Justice Society and Teth-Adam agreed to work together when Intergang kidnapped Amon (Bodhi Sabongui), Adrianna's son. It turns out that the effort to free Amon unwittingly also triggers a far greater threat to Kahndaq and humanity. Because, Intergang has been eyeing the king's crown that can resurrect a demon named Sabbac.
