At a special event held in Okinawa, SK8 the Infinity anime revealed the first visual for the previously announced OVA. The first visual revealed depicts Kaoru Sakurayashiki aka Cherry and Kojiro Nanjo aka Joe in their middle school days, and hints at more visuals to come. Additionally, the event also announced that a second season of the anime is in the works with a release date for the second season not yet confirmed at this time. The following is the announcement trailer for the OVA and second season which was previously revealed in August 2022.

Returning staff members for the OVA project and its second season include director Hiroko Otsumi, series composer Ichiro Okouchi, and character designer Michinori Chiba, which will be produced by studio Bones.

SK8 the Infinity is an anime about a middle school student named Reki who meets a new friend named Langa. One day, Reki was interested in a skateboarding race held on a dangerous hill, a secret, wild race without limits called "S".

Reki came to the location of the "S" race and invited Langa, who had just moved to the city. Langa, who slowly gets to know this world, begins to find himself sucked into it. This anime features various kinds of thrilling skateboarding matches and various unexpected incidents that Reki and Langa have to go through on their journey.
