The popular manhwa series Solo Leveling is in preparation to get a Korean live action adaptation, as revealed by D&C Webtoon's creative director Heaeun Kwak in an interview with French news site L'Internaute.

Solo Leveling, which is a manhwa adaptation of a novel series by Chugong with illustrations by DUBU (REDICE Studio), first launched on the Webtoon service in March 2018 and ends in December 2021. Yen Press has published this manhwa along with the original novel series in English.

This manhwa has become extremely popular and has garnered many fans around the world. In fact, Kadokawa published this manhwa in Japan under the title Ore Dake Level-Up na Ken (I'm the Only One Who Leveled Up), and the 14th volume was released on September 22nd 2023.

Not only that, Solo Leveling will also get an anime adaptation scheduled to premiere in January 2024. Crunchyroll, a leading anime streaming platform, has announced this anime project during the Anime Expo industry panel in 2022.

Solo Leveling tells the story of a world where "gates" connecting the human world with different dimensions appear suddenly. Some humans then wake up with supernatural powers and become known as "hunters."

The story focuses on Sung Jinwoo, a low-ranking hunter who is considered the "weakest hunter of all humanity." However, everything changes when he receives a mysterious assignment that takes him on a journey to level up and uncover the secret behind the gate.

With its ever-growing popularity, a Korean live action adaptation of Solo Leveling would be great news for loyal fans of the series. In addition, Crunchyroll will also be airing the anime outside of Asia, so fans around the world will be able to enjoy Sung Jinwoo's epic adventure.
