Spriggan is an old-school anime that was released in the form of a film in 1998. Then, Netflix made Spriggan as their anime remake project. The Netflix version of the Spriggan has officially premiered on June 18, 2022.

Spriggan is produced by the same studio that produced the Jojo's Bizzarre Adventure. In addition, Hiroshi Kobayashi and Hiroshi Seko who worked on the Attack on Titan are also included as animation directors.

The story of Spriggan starts from the manga by Hiroshi Takashige and Ryoji Minagawa which was published in 1989 in 11 volumes.

With a rating of 18+, Netflix will release Spriggan in 6 episodes, where each episode is approximately 45 minutes long. The genres include action, sci-fi, and history which are mixed well.

Spriggan tells the story of an elite organization named Spriggan whose job is to protect an ancient artifact from abuse by evil parties. The story conflict stems from the technology of ancient civilizations that are targeted by many parties, from the military to criminals.

The power of this ancient technology exceeds the invention of modern humans and is judged to be a weapon of mass destruction. Because of this, the artifact becomes so dangerous that Spriggan steps in to protect it.

Spriggan decides to find, destroy, and seal off the technology of this ancient civilization. Because if this dangerous weapon falls into a party with evil intentions, it can threaten the safety of the world.
