In an interview with Famitsu, Square Enix stated that they have no plans to make a sequel or new title for the popular franchise. Along with this statement, Square Enix also added that no one knows what will happen in the future. This statement may upset Chrono Cross fans as well as give them hope if this game still has hope of getting a new title.

This information was conveyed by Masato Kato, Yasunori Mitsuda, and Nobuteru Yuki after the remastered version of Chrono Cross was released. Square Enix itself received input regarding a new title or sequel after the release of Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition.

Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition is a remastered version of Chrono Cross that features improved music and graphics, as well as a new story. Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition is out for Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 7, 2022.
