Square Enix has launched a new update for Star Ocean: The Second Story R, adding more content and a new difficulty level. This free update brings Star Ocean: The Second Story R to version 1.1 and is available on all platforms where the RPG was released.

The Second Story R is a 2.5D remake of Star Ocean: The Second Story originally released for the PlayStation 1. The RPG was developed by Tri-Ace and published by Enix. Considering this was one of the most popular RPGs around 2003, it's not surprising that Square Enix released an update for Star Ocean: The Second Story R.

Version 1.1 adds a new difficulty mode called Chaos, new enemies that can mimic the powers of the Ten Wise Men, and more. Even so, you won't immediately find this when playing a new game. This only applies to players who have completed the story, new weapons, armor and accessories for all characters.

Plus, there are new illustrations for the main characters, a character collection menu, the option to view all unlocked endings, and the ability to customize New Game+ such as resetting character levels or acquired items. Pro players can also start new games with higher difficulty levels such as Chaos.
