Former Stardew Valley developer Artuhr Lee, also known as Mr. Podunkian, has now announced his life simulation game called Sunkissed City which is now planned to be released in 2024 for PC via Steam and consoles whose release is planned at a later date.

At first glance, the game might look similar to Stardew Valley, especially in terms of visuals. In response to this, Mr. Podunkian also stated on his YouTube channel, that.

“To prevent some comments, no, This is not a Stardew Mod, this is my own game, and yes, I have permission from ConcernedApe to make this (I work on Stardew Valley!). This game engine was originally written when I worked under him, but he kindly let me keep it when I left the company because it was all my work.” wrote Mr. Podunkian in the description of the game trailer.

In Sunkissed City, you will play the role of a person who wants to start a new life in Apollo City, a metropolitan city on the seashore. As new employees of the “Peco Pioneer” project pilot program of the monolithic company Pico, you are tasked with cultivating relationships with the dynamic Apollo community and making a good case for Pico's new environmentally focused initiatives.

In this game, you can also meet residents, and socialize with them, challenge yourself with several tasks that you have to complete, and help find ways to solve them. You can also collaborate with Keby, an enigmatic and mischievous forest creature, to overcome the various problems plaguing the city and reclaim Apollo City from the forces that are weakening its cheerful colors. Unlike other life simulation games, Sunkissed City is planned to offer online multiplayer and split-screen cooperative modes, so you can experience this new city with friends and family.
