T1 Secures Spot in VCT Pacific 2025 Playoffs - Stage 1 by Overcoming Team Secret
The match between T1 and Team Secret occurred on Monday, April 7, 2025, featuring a best of 3 (BO3) format. The teams faced off on the maps Haven, Icebox, and Lotus.
In the first game on Haven, Team Secret initially secured the first point. However, T1 quickly took control, putting Team Secret on the defensive. A strong performance from iZu in the 12th round pushed T1 further ahead, leading to an 8-4 score in their favor at halftime after eliminating JessieVash and 2GE.
As the teams switched sides, Stax and his teammates started strong. Team Secret managed to score in the 15th bonus round, but Buzz made a significant impact in the next round, achieving an Ace in area A with his Marshal. Despite this, Team Secret continued to fight back.
T1 reached match point, just one step away from clinching game 1 on Haven. Buzz stepped up again, taking down Jremy and Invy, and after eliminating 2GE, T1 secured the first game with a final score of 13-6.
In the second game on Icebox, Team Secret took the lead in the pistol round of the first half, unlike the previous game where T1 was ahead. Team Secret dominated this half, finishing with a score of 9-3. After switching sides, T1 won the pistol round in the second half and began to close the gap.
T1 managed to narrow the point difference, but in the 21st round, Team Secret reached match point. In the following round, they eliminated Meteor and iZu, putting them in a strong position. With Spike planted, Buzz found himself in a 2v1 situation after Invy was taken down. Ultimately, Jremy finished the game for Team Secret by eliminating Buzz, sealing their victory in game 2.
In Game 3, Team Secret kicked off the first half by winning the pistol round, giving them an early edge. They maintained a narrow lead over T1, finishing the first half with a score of 7-5 in their favor.
As the teams switched sides, Team Secret found themselves with a 4v5 disadvantage after Meteor was taken out. T1 also lost Stax and Sylvan, leaving them in a tough 2v5 situation. Despite this, they managed to plant the Spike, with Buzz securing the first kill on Jremy and iZu taking down WildOoreo.
Buzz was left in a challenging 1v3 scenario. After throwing Paint Shells, he eliminated Invy and pulled off an incredible clutch, taking out all four opponents, including JessieVash, to save T1. This momentum allowed T1 to gain the upper hand in the following rounds.
As Team Secret began to feel the pressure, T1 reached match point in the 20th round. The 21st round saw both teams trading attacks in a tense 3v3 standoff. WildOoreo took down Stax, while Meteor eliminated 2GE. Izu then extended T1's lead by taking out WildOoreo, and Jremy finished off Meteor.
A critical duel unfolded between iZu and Jremy, determining if T1 could seal the victory or if Team Secret could prolong the match. With the Spike planted, Izu activated his Viper ultimate to establish a strong defensive position. Ultimately, Izu triumphed over Jremy, securing the final round for T1 with a score of 13-8.
With this victory, T1 qualified for the VCT Pacific 2025 Playoffs - Stage 1, and they will face off against two renowned teams, Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) and Talon Esports, in their upcoming matches.
