The League of Legends team, T1, has just made history by becoming world champions at Worlds 2023, making this their fourth title. Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok, as the team star, also set a record by becoming the first player to win four world titles. Previously, Faker and Bae "Bengi" Seong-woong both had three titles when they won the 2013, 2015 and 2016 Worlds together. Now, Faker is ahead with four titles.

In the final, T1, who was the last representative from the LCK, managed to beat strong teams from LPL, LNG Esports and JD Gaming, to reach the top. They also maintain an impressive record: never losing a best-of-five series against an LPL team at Worlds. The 3-0 victory over Weibo Gaming at Gocheok Sky Dome, Seoul, further cemented their status.

The match started with a stunning opening. Unusual champion choices like Yone for Choi “Zeus” Woo-je and Lee Sin for Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun show the boldness of T1's strategy. Meanwhile, Weibo Gaming chose a combination of Senna and Tahm Kench aiming for scaling in the late game.

The match was fierce with both teams returning kills. However, some big team fights were decisive. For example, Oner's action with Lee Sin in the 18th minute, although it didn't result in a kill, managed to determine the course of the fight. Then, in the 21st minute, T1 secured their victory in an important battle initiated by Weibo Gaming’s Maokai.

In the second game, T1 surprised everyone by choosing Draven, Nocturne, and Gwen. Meanwhile, Weibo Gaming chose Kalista as the carry during the Worlds 2023 playoffs. Even though T1 lost control of the dragon at the start, they managed to show their strength in big team fights.

The third game saw a change in strategy from Weibo Gaming by selecting Azir and Bard, but T1 countered with Xayah and Rakan, as well as Akali. Faker played brilliantly with Akali, securing a triple kill in a crucial battle that decided the course of the game.

T1 managed to close the series fastest in 25 minutes, securing the world title at Worlds 2023. Faker, with the experience of eight appearances at Worlds and various ups and downs, returned to the top as champion. Zeus was named MVP of the 2023 Worlds finals, marking T1's next step in expanding their legacy in League of Legends esports history.
