From the outer appearance, PlayStation 5 promises a very different design from the previous PlayStation consoles, but apparently that's not the only update that will be presented. In a post in LinkedIn, the President of UX Design (User Experience) at PlayStation, Matt MacLaurin promises to bring a very different User Interface (UI) on the PS5 compared to the PS4 console.

Quoted from The Verge, MacLaurin mentioned that the UI is a total overhaul of its  predecessor console. "100 percent overhaul of the PS4 UI and also different concept," said MacLaurin. Although the PS5 overhauled the UI used by PlayStation so far, this man promises that PlayStation fans will still feel familiar with this new UI.

Even though it sounds very interesting, it's still very difficult to imagine what the new UI that will be used by PS5 later looks like. Sony also seems to really save this information to be a surprise for its fans. MacLaurin’s post disappeared shortly after he posted it.

What Sony done is very different from what is done by the rival, Microsoft. Instead of changing the appearance of the Xbox Series X UI, like what PS5 did, Microsoft announced that they would use the same UI and UX in the latest generation consoles as they already used in the Xbox One console. This US-based gaming company will only focus on making the console faster and stronger.

Let’s see which console will bring the most interesting UI and UX in the eyes of the gamers later, is it the PS5 or the Xbox Series X?
