In the Esports World Cup (EWC) Spotlight, Sanford spoke with the hosts about Team Liquid's success in winning the MSC 2025 Esports World Cup. The host stated that when Team Liquid lost Game 1 against SRG OG and Magnus Carlsen was there to watch, did that perhaps put pressure on Sanford and his teammates to win?

Sanford stated that having Magnus Carlsen there at the time made them even more motivated to win. Sanford stated that he and his teammates didn't want to lose and feel embarrassed if Magnus Carlsen was watching them if they lost against Selangor Red Giants OG Esports.

"No for me, it's a motivation!" Sanford said. "The time that we were losing the game (game 1) we saw Magnus up there. And we were like 'Oh guys, you guys ready to lose? And Magnus is watching, It's kinda embarassing if you guys lose, so.. " Sanford added.
