TBS announced on Thursday, January 4th 2024 that a live action adaptation of Soichiro Yamamoto's manga, Teasing Master Takagi-san (Karakai Jōzu no Takagi-san), will premiere on March 26th 2024.

Internationally, the live action show Teasing Master Takagi-san will be available on Netflix every Tuesday. The live action series Teasing Master Takagi-san will also be broadcast on the TBS Drama Stream block in March every Wednesday at 12:58 am Japan time.

Rui Tsukishima (Seventeen Shueisha magazine model, guest actress in the Kamen Rider Geats episode) and her fellow teenage artist, Soya Kurokawa (Hirokazu Kore-eda's Monster), will star in the live action series Teasing Master Takagi-san as Takagi and Nishikata.

Teasing Master Takagi-san manga is also the basis for a live action movie which will be broadcast in Japan on May 31st 2024. This movie will tell an original story set ten years after the middle school years in the original manga story.

Rikiya Imaizumi (live action Hozuki-san Chi no Aneki, Chihiro-san, Just Only Love) is on board as director for both the live action series adaptation and movie of Teasing Master Takagi-san. Like the live action series, Imaizumi also contributed to writing the screenplay with Tomoki Kanazawa (Sanctuary, Sabakan) and Jun Hagimori (Sabakan).

Takashi Ohmama (Dances with the Dragons, Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury, The Gene of AI) is responsible for the music. Both adaptations were filmed entirely on Shodo Island in Kagawa Prefecture, the same location as the story in the previous anime adaptation.
