The China-based Lightspeed Studio announced that it is developing a video game adaptation of the Wuxia novel series called Code: To Jin Yong. The trailer showcases stylish combat that mixes lots of Wuxia-inspired mind-blowing mid-air moves that have been replicated impeccably in a video game. 

In most action games, when the character is dodging or parrying an incoming attack, they usually use their hands while both of their feet are down. Whereas Code: To Jin Yong allows players to jump really high to dodge the attacks.

This game is currently being developed by Lightspeed Studios, a subsidiary of Tencent Games, which has previously worked on numerous popular mobile games such as Apex Legends and PUBGM. Code: To Jin Yong is said to be developed in Unreal Engine 5, which Tencent believes will allow developers to replicate the stunning moves of wuxia.

The trailer video also features the environment, which seems really responsive to the battle, such as the leaves getting blown by the wind from the character’s movements. The camera also looks dynamic yet not too excessive in its movements.

Tencent is yet to announce the official release date for the game, or which platform this game will be made available for. Seems that we still have to wait for another update on this first wuxia game.
