Tencent Prepares Face Scanner System to Limit Kids Playing at Night
Using real names doesn't work, now the Chinese government and Tencent are using a facial scanner system to limit children's playing time at night.

The Chinese government seems to be having a very difficult time limiting game addiction among underage gamers. Last year, the Chinese government implemented a policy that required gamers and all citizens to use their real names when playing games. However, it seems that this method is not effective enough to reduce addictions.
Until finally, the Chinese Government together with Tencent have launched a new system called "Midnight Patrol". This system allows various games owned by Tencent to be able to identify the players' faces.
citing DotEsports.com, Tencent has implemented a new system that can scan the faces of its players in each of its games. The system, called Midnight Patrol, will start working from 10 pm to 8 am. Given that there are still many children who fake their identities.
The way this system works is very easy, the game being played will automatically require the user to give access to perform a face scan. If the player has been playing the game for too long or playing after 10 pm to 8 am, the game will run a face scan system. If the user refuses or fails to perform a facial scan properly, the system will force the player to exit the game he is playing.
Of course playing games too long for minors is not good and can damage their health. Moreover, China is also known as the country with the most underage gamers in the world today. So it is very difficult to limit its citizens from playing games, even though various efforts have been made.
Internet and gaming addiction has been around for a long time in China. Many teenagers and children who are addicted to playing games are finally put in military-style camps to detoxify the addiction caused by these digital games.
