When it comes to the most popular character in Tokyo Ravengers, most fans will probably say Mikey. The short blonde student surely knows how to fight. However, Mikey isn’t like any other junior high school student.

How come a seemingly frail junior high school student leads a gang and beat dozens of thugs just by using his knowledge of martial art? It’s a bit suspicious, isn’t it? Well, actually, there’s a theory that says Mikey is another time leaper in Tokyo Revengers -- just like Takemichi Hanagaki, the main character.

What is a Time Leaper?

Before we delve into the theory, you need to know the definition of a time leaper. In short, a Time Leaper is a person who travels around time without their physical body -- only with their mind and consciousness.

It’s a different story with time travelers as they move through times with their bodies (e.g., Doraemon and Nobita using the time machine).

In Tokyo Revengers, the main character, Takemichi Hanagaki becomes a Time Leaper after he’s being pushed from the train platform. The other moment that triggers this power was when Naoto Tachibana, Hinata’s little brother, shook Takemichi’s hand.

So, what about Mikey? Is he actually a Time Leaper like Takemichi? Without further ado, let’s get into it!

Mikey Time Leaper Theory

Now let’s get to the main discussion. There are four signs that indicate Mikey is a Time Leaper. First, is when he met Takemichi. At that time, Takemichi was fighting Kiyomasa. But Mikey (Leader) and Draken (Vice Leader) of the Tokyo Manji Gang broke them off.

At that moment, Mikey was fascinated with Takemichi and asked him, "Are you really a middle school student?".

This question indicates that Mikey is probably a Time Leaper. Because, why would Mikey, a  middle school student, ask that question to Takemichi, who’s also supposed to be another middle school student? In short, Mikey probably had some suspicions that Takemichi came from the future -- just like him.

Another sign that supports this theory is when Draken was almost killed by Moebius. During Draken’s recovery, Takemichi visited him at the hospital. Right then, Takemichi was handed a Tokyo Manji uniform, which turned out to be Mikey’s.

Draken said that the gift was a way for Mikey to show his gratitude to Takemichi. After he handed the uniform, Draken told Takemichi that Mikey’s on the rooftop. So, Takemichi went there.

Once he’s on the rooftop, Takemichi saw Mikey, who was talking to himself about the incident. Mikey couldn’t believe that Takemichi managed to overcome the situation. Then, Mikey murmured, "Who are you really, Takemichi?"

That question indicates that Mikey got increasingly suspicious of Takemichi. So, Mikey probably already knew about the incident, yet he didn’t expect that Takemichi would be able to save Draken.

The next sign that supports the Mikey Time Leaper theory is from the Manga, Chapter 198-207. In these chapters, Tokyo Manji members plan to make a time capsule, containing their messages, which will be opened 12 years later.

Long story short, 12 years have passed, and the Tokyo Manji members have become successful at what they do. However, Mikey’s not there. Yup, Mikey’s whereabouts are unknown as he veered off the right path.

Since Mikey’s not there with them, the rest of the Tokyo Manji members open his time capsule. As it turns out, Mikey has written his prediction on the success of each Tokyo Manji member, like Mitsuya who became a designer, Draken who opened a motorcycle shop, and Takemichi who will marry Hinata Tachibana in a few days.

Since all of his predictions are 100 accurate, it’s understandable that some fans believe that Mikey is the other Time Leaper aside from Takemichi.

But that’s not all. In the time capsule, Mikey also put a video he recorded for Takemichi in the future. The video contains Mikey’s childhood with his family and what he had gone through.

Mikey suffers a "Dark Impulsivity", which causes him to regularly lose control of himself -- as if there’s another version of him taking over. Sometimes Mikey doesn’t realize the ramifications of his actions. Mikey also advises Takemichi not to look for him in the future.

Despite Mikey’s warning, Takemichi still insists on finding Mikey. However, when he comes across Mikey, Takemichi gets shot three times by Mikey who’s completely under the influence of his Dark Impulsivity. However, Takemichi still tries to get Mikey back to his old self.

Since Mikey can’t take it anymore, he decides to jump off the building they’re in. But, Takemichi immediately holds Mikey and snaps him out of his mind. At this moment, for the first time, Takemichi manages to Time Leap while using Mikey as the medium.

This Time Leap brings Takemichi back to 10 years before when he’s still with his high school friends. When Takemichi is still confused, the scene cuts to Mikey with his new gang Kantou Manji.

The scene shows Mikey’s atrocity, fighting against hundreds of people without any help. Then Mikey looks at his hand and says, "So you’ve arrived, Takemichi?"

That particular scene is another sign that indicates Mikey is also a Time Leaper in Tokyo Revengers.
